I have bought two of these to protect the stereo in or 78 cj5 Jeep. The first one broke when we rolled the jeep down into a ravine and it landed on a stump. Cracked the front of the housing, but the stereo was fine. The old jeep does not have a top anymore and we do a lot of offroading in heavy dust and mud. It has worked well to protect the stereo. I even use a garden hose on it when washing out the inside if the Jeep. Verry happy with it.

This is exactly what I needed to mount my new stereo in my older Jeep, didn't want to cut up my dash to make the stereo fit and this solves that problem. I was really impressed with the quality not made cheep at all, and as far as water proof just about nothing out there is completely water proof. This will keep the dirt and moisture out for sure. I'm a happy camper

I researched Stereo Enclosures far and near and settled for this enclosure. The price was right and it was a breeze to install. I read the reviews and was skeptical of my purchase due to all the negative reviews left about the face plate. I came to the assumption that these customers probably did not use caution when opening face plate or were just too rough. Please buy this item w/ caution. The hinge on the face plate breaks real easy. I notified the "Pyle" company about my concern and they responded w/ "We only cover mechanical parts"

Great product, keeps dust and water from stereo.

I was installing my radio and everything connected fine. The problem is with the sticker for the lid to help seal the box from water. It is to thick!!! even thou it is very thin to the eye. If you try and close it and expect it to stay closed its not happening!!!! It just keeps popping open no matter what you do, so I cut it back until it finally closed and stay closed, but it did not leave much sticker or protection from water. As it is suppose to me 100% water proof.

Pros: It's cheap Cons: It's cheap!, no wire for +ignition wire which is used on almost all stereos. If you want/need to connect that wire for your radio to work you'll be drilling a hole in the case. Ears on the mounting bracket broke the first wave I hit with a 18 fish and ski. Both snapped right at the bends. Case is showing a stress fracture where the face plate screws in. If you are going to buy this plan on spending ~$10 on some aluminum bar stock and make yourself a respectable bracket.

Got it and the face cover was broken.. But they are sending me a new flip door for it and I’m very thankful they are so.. but it is very well made and looks really good mounted up..

took out the radio in my jeep and mounted switches there and installed this on my dash the radio stays water tight with the top off and looks great . with the 7 " retrackabule screen it really looks nice

j'ai mis 3 etoile car beau boitier cependant a force d'ouvrir fermer la porte la charniere sa a cassé des deux côté et sa 5 minute aprés avoir reçu donc un peu dessus je tente la super glu 3
