Alpine SWR-10D4 Type-R 10" Subwoofer with Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils (Each)

For the price they cannot be beaten. I think Sundown must be promoting themselves as Ive seen multiple mentions. Ive been using Type Rs for 10 years in air tight sealed enclosures. Accuracy and power handling cannot be beaten at this price or much higher. If installed correctly look forward to extremely detailed bass. Not really the sub for a big Boom, but if you car about every note in your music this is the way to go. FYI watch out for "grey" or "B" market subs. A&A online sold one to me then following the complaint of random glue drops and missing serial numbers the dosged every return (even exchange) that they could. May have to purchase another to replace that one. STORE REVIEW ARE IMPORTANT.

These sound great. I have a 2013 ram crew cab with 2 of these, a fox box for 2 10s that is 1.35 per sub, vented. I have a pioneer gmd8601 amp and thats all these subs want, any more and i think they will blow. These out hit my buddies 2 10 memphis in 2 door truck, 2 12 powerbass in two door truck, 2 10 cvr kicker in extended cab truck, and almost hit as hard as my friends 3 10 memphis in 2 door truck. These rattle my house when I pull in, and turn heads everywhere I go.

Love this sub. I had 2 before and they deff impressed me then and this does now. It is in a small sealed box to fit in an s2000 in the storage area of the trunk. Had a rockford hx2 12 before in a standard wedge box. And this is louder and deff more clear on the same amo. Have a bigger amp coming tomorrow with 4 Guage kit to wire it. May port and if I do I will update with both amp and box outcomes.

the product cant handle the 1000w. i have an alpine mrx m100 amp and the gain was dialed to just under 3/4 and the sub blew, it stopped working and when i took the sub out of the box smoke started pouring out and there was chunks of metal in the box and the coil was all mangled into a knot on the inside. ive gone through two of these and wont buy another one or any other alpine sub.

Quit working less than 2 weeks. Didn't burn up, just quit. Sent it back got a full refund, but cost me almost $50 to ship back. Got a sundown to replace it and it seem to be holding up. It shakes the hell out of my son's Full size Bronco. Hurts my ears it hits so hard and low.

4 star subs. They look and feel a lot Better then they actually perform. From a durability stand point these woofers are horrible. Don't take much of a beating. SQ wise they're ok, they do dig pretty deep and get loud but the coils heat up quick and I'm only pushing half it's RMS rating CLEANLY in a proper sealed box. JL 500/1v2 is my amp. Can Barely hear it. Your gonna wanna go ported but I stay stray from Alpine for $140 and get something else. (RF P3, SA E-series)

It could have been the fact I was using a sealed box and not a ported, but this sub sounded rather weak to me. sound quality is all a matter of preference and I like deeper, more boomy bass. This 10 was not able to give me what I wanted. I have 2 of these now sitting in my closet and will down the road make it a goal to try them in a bandpass enclosure to see if it was just the box that was disappointing me. Sidenote: this sub cannot hit anywhere near 1000 watts using an Alpine MRX-M100.

Superior power handling, crisp deep bass levels! Exceptional durability. The Type R is Alpines top of the line pretty much. This is a awesome bang for the buck if your looking to do a single subwoofer setup. Crisp Bass, with deep lows. Excellent overall Value!
