Please use regular tap water. As reccommended for all steamers they should be emptied after use.

How high is the hook off the floor that the garment hanger sits in? Also, does it make wet spots on your clothes?

I have only used it once and it did not make any wet spots or stains. I'm not sure about the height. Could easily hang a dress or suit though.

Is this easy to carry around and take from place to place? I also do at home tint removal, is it durable to travel to many places and be compact?

It’s durable but def not the best to carry from place to place. I am a stylist and I have bought a portable steamer to travel with. This also tends to tip over bc the shape of the tank. I suggest going with Jiffyfor home use. It doesn’t tip. But to travel around with Rowenta has some good options as well as Conair.

Can you use starch on the shirts before steaming them?

We are not 100% sure. No one here uses starch. From what I can find on the internet you can lightly spray starch on the shirt before steaming it. We do not recommend putting starch into the machine as it will destroy the steamer.
