PRICE is very good for me a person that likes to Modifying skates to his liking so yes i would recommend them to someone that in into modifying skates like Me ...... Fantastic, no issues.
Just got these and went to the rink! I read the negative reviews about bearings, they say 7 right on the box and they are just fine. I read the reviews about needing to replace the wheels, I read the reviews about the trucks and plates needing major attention or replacement. LET me says this...if you are a hardcore speed skater that is some kind of rink demon needing tricked out trucks and 9 bearings then why are you buying a pair of $50-$70 skates? THESE skates are fast, great right out of the box! I seriously doubt anyone looking at this price range would be less than extremely happy with this purchase. Easily worth more. Great, stong, comfortable boot. Arrived ahead of schedule!

Don't let poor reviews deter you from this skate
Don't let poor reviews deter you from this skate. This is a good skate for beginners and wanting to move up - My son is wanting to referee a local derby group and is new to skating; this skate is a good quality skate to learn on - You will need to do some adjustments when you first skate. Adjusting the toe stops, loosening the wheels - (7/16th ratchet - and a regular adjustable wrench will help you loosen the trucks and give them a little give or sway). My son measures very close to a size 12; and because of the reviews, we ordered size 11 - which is a very good fit for him - even with a very high instep, and wide measurements; a size smaller still worked out well.Given a good once over after making sure the boot fit well; the wheels are not a bad quality. What's nice about this skate - besides the price, as over all shoe plate, trucks etc.. as you advance in skill; you can always buy better wheels at skate sites and switch things out as you grow as a skater. For a beginning skate and one that can grow with you before you really invest in a good pair of speed skates, these skates are just fine..

GREAT SKATES!!
Great skates for the price. They do run a little big in size, but just throw on an extra pair of socks and your good. Like everone has already stated, the bearings are ABEC7 and not 9. I kinda figured that based on other reviews. The insoles are fine for skates. You should expect to make some minor adjustments to the tightness of the nuts on both the trucks and all 8 wheels. After these adjustments were made, I took them to the rink and skated just fine for 3 hours with no issues. I speed skated as a youngin' an did not want to spend a ton of cash but wanted my own skates to play around in.All in all a good purchase if you are looking!!!

You get what you pay for
Well, once again I bargain shopped for some gear and once again learn that you get what you pay for most of the time. This time is no exception. The boot is probably 6/10 quality, the trucks are a joke. Mine still had casting nubs on them and the grinding done to smooth the bushing seat area was done poorly. The hangers are not faced at all so good luck getting a bearing to sit flush against the hanger. At least it came with giant speed rings that give a better surface for the bearing race to align with. The pivot cup does not look like it fits well, which probably wont mater for too long since the rough cast marks on the pivot will probably shred that cup before long. The wheels are terrible and akin to hard plastic. The bearings, while only ABEC-7 (read about ABEC, you will never need ABEC-9 for non-industrial machine bearing use) are probably the best component on these. . . . and that's just because bearings really aren't that important*.If you only have $70 and need skates, these are by definition skates, but for $40 or $50 more, you can get a pair of skates that will last longer and that you don't immediately have to swap wheels on. Seriously, these wheels are so jenkie.

Rollin Around
I've been speed skating now for 24 years and I have to say being 6'5 and 270lbs is a lot on the wear and tear of skates. The skates are great for outdoor smooth concrete and indoor roller rinks. I will say though the biggest down fall is when trying to stop and the bumper unscrewing. I have up graded the wheels and bearings to REDS Bones Bearings and wheels to Orangatang, but the wheels that come with them are alright. If you're looking for a fast, smooth skate that is comfortable and doesn't hurt your ankle area these are the skates for you.

Roller Derby Sting 5500
I purchased these for my husband for Christmas. He said they are great skates! He did tell me they run a little big, but they are still comfortable. He said they were tight along the top and starting putting a blister on his foot, but after loosening the velcro closure on top, they were a better fit. He said they roll well, and he had lots of fun skating with our daughter at the rink. He would recommend them!

Good product
Great skates, I love them. I used to skate all of the time when I was a kid, and now at 42 years old wanted to get back into it so i purchased these skates. The wheels are plenty fast enough, the fit is good (nice and snug), the sole of the skate is a little hard so if your a tenderfoot you might go a size bigger to accommodate an insole. When you receive the skates, give things a good once over with a wrench to make sure it's tight. I have had a truck and both toe stops come loose with just a few hours of skating, but other than that, I love them and would recommend them to anyone.
