Updated review 1/6/2016: I have now purchased THREE of these mattress toppers for the beds in my house! The original topper which I reviewed below, is still fabulous. The only issue I have had with it, is that it got a couple of minor tears in the washer. However, I do not blame this on the topper itself. We have one of the newer high-efficiency washers, and any time we wash large/bulky items, the washer is really hard on them. My husband has some sort of fixation on washing the mattress topper every time we wash the sheets. (I tell him he shouldn't do this.....just vacuum it.) So this topper has been washed more times than I care to count. That said, aside from a couple of small rips, it's still perfect. The padding is still just as fluffy and luxurious as when it was new. With this topper, I actually like my bed at home better than the beds at high-end hotels...I seriously look forward to getting into my bed each night! Also, I should not that we have not had any rips or tears in the 2nd and 3rd toppers we bought. They do NOT get washed all the time. Wow - this is by far the best mattress pad I have ever owned. During the past five years I have purchased three mattresses and at least as many mattress pads in my quest for a good night's rest. I recently found a mattress that I really like, but I still had my old mattress pad which was lumpy, hot and uncomfortable. After much research, we decided to purchase this bamboo mattress pad from Exceptional Sheets, hoping it would be as comfortable, cool, and durable as many of the reviews indicated. We received the mattress pad within a couple of days of ordering, and it was packaged well. I was happy to note that the pad had not been crushed into a tiny box, but instead was packaged in a large box which allowed it to come right out of the box fluffy and ready to use. I was also so interested to see the personal note from the company inside the box. And much to my surprise, I discovered that the mattress pad was manufactured in my childhood hometown - another plus! Upon removing the pad from the box and placing on the bed, it was immediately evident it was well-made. Much better made than the previous three pads I had owned, which all were at similar price points. The stretchy part which fits around the mattress was of superior quality compared to others, and the pad itself felt heavenly. I have owned this mattress pad about a month now, and it is incredibly comfortable. Others reviewers are correct in that this mattress pad really does seem to help keep you cool at night! It is heavenly soft, but not the type where you feel you are sinking so far down in it that it makes you hot. It is soft and comfortable, and makes an already good mattress even better. I would highly recomend this mattress pad to anyone hoping to improve the comfort of their current bed - this one will do the job!

We have a memory foam bed and no matter how cool it is at night I would wake up with a sheen of sweat covering my body. Not a great way to wake up every morning. 4 nights ago, I decided to take off the mattress cover we had on it (spill resistant) to see if it did anything to help that. While it did, I was still waking up a tad damp. Again, not cool. So my search began in earnest on Friday. I saw this item and read many of the over 2,000 reviews and decided to give this one a shot. First of all, I am a huge supporter of products made in America. Double that with the fact that this product supports veterans and I am all in. Couple that with the reviews that I have read about it being plush as well as helping to keep the heat off the body from the memory foam mattress and I am, once again, in. I received it a day early and put it on the bed. There is NO SMELL. It was packaged well and opened right up. I pulled the bedding off the mattress, put this on and it fit perfectly (18" deep mattress), remade the bed and couldn't wait for bed time. When I first got into bed last night, I felt concerned that perhaps the filling in the quilting would heat up. That does not seem to be the case, well not to the degree the mattress and old mattress pad would. In Southern California we've been having very warm evenings and even if it isn't warm, it's been very humid. So I let myself fall asleep. I woke up this morning not covered in moisture ... I was well rested and not sore at all. I will update my review later this week when the weather heats up again but, thus far (after only 1 night) it's a vast improvement over what had been going on for the past 10 months. Side note; When washing items like this, cold water, gentle cycle, fluff dry. Seriously don't wash and dry on high heat. UPDATE: OCTOBER 11TH, 2015 - I was waiting for this weekend to update my review because we were going to see triple digit weather in Los Angeles and I wanted to make sure that we had hot overnights before I spoke about the "cooling" quality of the topper. When people say this mattress topper "cools" I believe it's a bit of a misnomer. It doesn't miraculously cool down your body as you sleep. What it does do, however, is create a barrier between a memory foam mattress and your body preventing heat transfer which is what causes the heat build up. I know this now to be 100% true as our bedroom was average 85 degrees at night and I know that prior to this topper I would wake up drenched in sweat. October 10th I slept until 9:30 am and that was with the sun coming in my window shining on me in the early morning hours. I never sleep till 9:30. Not only am I not drenched when I wake up, I am well rested. The only thing wrong with this topper is that it's making me NOT want to get out of bed in the morning. I've not washed this yet, so I cannot speak to that. However, I will update either way, good or bad, after I do. UPDATE: 11/3/2015 - We had some pretty hot days mid to end of October and this topper for sure keeps the heat at bay from the memory foam mattress. I was getting bummed about that but am bummed no longer. I believe this also helps in the "cradling" effect that I was so hoping for with the bed. Now that it's (finally) getting chilly in So Cal, I am looking forward to the warming properties. Buy this topper !!!!!!

This product has received such a tremendous positive reviews both on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca that I was at first skeptical as it may have sounded too good to be true. My old mattress pad only did the job of protecting the mattress without added comfort. In fact, I would say my mattress was more comfortable without my old mattress pad. The product arrived yesterday and at first glance it is difficult to tell if it is as good as what reviewer have said. After attaching them to my memory foam bed and sleeping on it for one night, I am just simply shocked as to how much my memory foam is more comfortable with this mattress pad. Two areas of significant improvement with memory foam mattress - this mattress pad 'cool' the mattress throughout so that adds tremendous comfort. Secondly, the padding on this pad is just enough to make it more comfortable to sleep and roll around. Since the padding is quiet thick and gives you a surround feel, you sometimes feel like you're sleeping on a cloud. Finally - what makes this product from solid four stars product to five stars perfection is its value / price. This product exceeded expectations at all levels and would give it seven stars if I could

Excellent quality - nice and thick as described. I bought the Twin size - fits well and stays in place. This has made my older mattress into a brand new mattress. It is the most comfortable bed I have slept on. Definitely worth the price, which I was initially skeptical of, but worth every penny. Buy this for you bed now.

This mattress topper feels great and looks exactly as advertised. It was a great addition to our cheap IKEA mattress, and feels incredibly luxurious. We haven't tried it in summer yet, but it makes sleeping in the winter months especially cozy. For heavier bedmates, or if you have a taller mattress, you may find that the topper will slowly pull off from underneath, and you will have to re-tuck it once in a while. For us, this isn't often (maybe once every week or two) and usually coincides with when we wash the sheets anyway, so I don't think it's a big deal. Overall, a great purchase and well worth the money.

Amazing product! Not as cooling as hoped, but more comfortable than I can believe, and I sleep on a new, extremely comfortable memory foam mattress. So while it doesn't do the job I'd hoped for, there's no way I'm returning it. It's like having another new bed! The gussets are good and deep, there's no off-gassing whatsoever, and the bamboo is, indeed, cool to the touch. It just doesn't remain cool once body heat is concentrated in one area.
