Three things to know
1. If you're going on vacation, this is it. I brought two to Aruba; they worked perfectly. Comfortable, lightweight, dry out easily, completely block the sun, don't feel cumbersome in the water at all. (And despite the chuckles of your family and friends, you can say "it's not a t-shirt, it's a rashguard!")2. THEY ARE LARGE. I am "out of shape" but still wear a size L shirt. I just assumed that I would go up one size when buying a swim shirt, but the reviews convinced me to go with my normal size. I was skeptical, so I still ordered an extra one that was an XL.They were right. The Large shirts turned out to be the equivalent of an XL, and the XL was really, really big on me (I'll just return it). The large shirts weren't huge or anything; I didn't feel the need to return them, and they were lightweight and great in the water. But it was definitely like wearing a t-shirt size-wise; swimming laps would have been awkward unless I went a size down.BOTTOM LINE: order several and see which size you like best. They didn't shrink in the washing machine or after swimming at the beach.3. It sounds like color played a difference for some people in how well they worked. I don't know if that's true, but I used a "china blue" and a navy blue in Aruba, and they did the job perfectly. I can't speak to how a white one might be different in terms of deflecting the sun. It seemed strange to wear darker-colored shirts when trying to avoid the sun, but I read somewhere that darker SPF shirts are better. All I can say is that the Navy and Royal Blue ones were great.

Not as advertised
I don't make a habit of writing bad reviews, but I feel I must make an exception here. The shirt I received is simply not as advertised. It is nothing more than a white T shirt with the polo horse logo stamped (not embroidered) on it. The only tag in it says "100% cotton", not polyester. Not worth the trouble to return it, but certainly not an effective rash guard

Be careful
Be really careful. I ordered 2 blue shirts for my dad this summer and he loved them. For Xmas this year I decided to get him a blue, grey, and white. The white was perfect. The blue and grey were shipped by a different seller (Aichat) and were absolutely horrible. This Aichat shirts were 100% cotton and absolutely not upf 50. They were much smaller in size and had a fake, distorted polo insignia.

Great shirt
My wife advised me to consider sun shirts to reduce the risk of skin cancer after a recent scare. An on line search lead me to these shirts with an SPF 50 rating. Initially I ordered one t see if I liked them. That was last year. The shirt has held up beautifully. The material is light has a kind of silky feel to it. The shirt is very comfortable even on hot humid days. Also the shirt drys quickly when if it gets wet. I think this are very good shirts for the price and I now own 5 of these shirts.

Pleasantly surprised
I got this as we were leaving for the beach. Opened it up to find a snag in the shirt. Fixed it and washed it. Wore it out to the beach two days ago and was extremely pleased with it. The guard dried quickly and protected my chest and back from the sun. If you are looking for a tighter fit would recommend going down a size or checking out another type.

Very disappointed.
I ordered cyber green, I was send a black shirt with a tag stating it's 100% cotton. Not polyester. Not the shirt described. This is not the product I was expecting. Very disappointed.

More like mesh, wears well
My son likes these but I have to say I was surprised to find that it is actually more like a mesh shirt than a regular nylon based swim shirt. It's kid of scratchy too. Still, my son like these and they are holding up very well and he hasn't gotten burned so apparently it is doing it's job.

Great for the beach!
After reading the reviews, I ordered a size down from my normal medium size. The small fit great for a guy who normally wears a 38-40 and who wants a slimmer fit. I ordered the white and yellow in a small for vacation and both worked out well for the beach and for jogging early mornings. Very pleased with the material and the fit.
