When my OEM charger tip broke my kids life came crashing down in a ball of fire. My eight year old had to hold the charger in by hand to make the connection work or else the 2 year old would scream that she could not watch her movie. Spending a lot of time in the car this was not an option for us. I turned to Amazon and this charger seemed to have the compatibility fit I was looking for. With about 2 months of use, this charger has worked flawlessly and is still holding up. I read other comments where people mentioned they liked it better than the OEM charger. This one feels constructed well and does not give me any worries about a repeat breakage. I would definitely order again and recommend to others looking for a replacement charger.

I bought this for my son's van. The kids had broken the original cable. This one arrived in good condition. I checked it, and was extremely pleased at the quality. My son installed it in his van and reported that the DVD Player was fully operational. The cable has been in service several months now and it continues to perform flawlessly. If the kids ever break it again (which I'm sure they will) I'll order another one of these! I'm very happy with the purchase!

I cannot comment on durability since we just received it. However, it works well, and seems to be made very well! This plug is much heavier and of nicer quality that the original plug itself! So far we are Very pleased!!! Should have order this a long time ago instead of waiting for the other one to break!

Years ago, we purchased a dual-screen 7" RCA portable DVD system for our car. Within a year, the screens just stopped working, so we decided to buy another system to replace the RCA - this time settling on a Panasonic. After a few months, I noticed that the adapter that came with the Panasonic was fraying near the voltage plug, so I decided to start shopping for a new plug. While shopping, the set stopped working. Just to be sure it was the plug and not the set, I used an old 12-volt adapter that plugs into a house outlet and found that it was, in fact, the car plug and not the set. With this in mind, I checked the old system that had stopped working (we saved it in case we could "fix it" later), and low and behold it worked!! It was just the car adapter for that set that was broken, too! That being the case, I found this item and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the LENGTH of it, as my VW has a voltage plug in the back and the front, and I figured at this length, I could hide the plug in the back and finally leave our front outlet open for other needs! I ordered two - one for both the old and the new player - and it works wonderfully! Now, my husband and I do not have to switch the DVD player from one car to the next when we are going on long trips, and I was able to run the plug through the split-seats of my VW and minimize the "tangle" that occurs when our boys get situated in the back seat!

The original cable was flimsy and broke recently. The whole head attachment just detached from the plastic part. So far it has lasted 3 years almost so I figured it was time to replace it. This part is actually of better quality than the original part and works like a a charm. Not disappointed at all of buying it since the replacement cable from the manufacturer is twice as expensive.

The charger arrived as promised. I had to play with it and finally got it to work however it will only show the picture on the 2nd unit but will not support audio for the 2nd unit. That is frustrating because we only have volume on one unit.

If you still have a working Phillips Dual Screen dvd player then this is a great replacement car charger adaptor. It's much more solidly built than the original phillips car charger. The cords are nice and thick and the part that plugs into the cigarette lighter seems much more solid. I /hIghly recommend this replacement car charger adaptor.

This adaptor was for a dual screen dvd player that was about to be in the trash/ I looked all over town at Best Buy, Radio Shack etc... for something compatible and found nothing. I was weary about buying this but read the good reviews and though I would do it before I lumped the whole system in the trash. I got it just in time for a 16 hour car ride and was THRILLED I did. It was a trip saver for sure, and way stronger than the phillips one that came with the dvd's. So happy about this purchase! Thank you!
