I love this little egg slicer.

I thought it was all metal but it wasn't it's mainly plastic. A little disappointed but it does work well!

Love this little item! It's very well made and so easy to use! It's really takes a lot of the time off of slicing and chopping. I made potato salad and sliced the eggs and pickles in less than two minutes. What ever will fit it will cut. It's also really well made.

The nylon/silicone base leaves a black residue. I had misplaced the slicer years ago and was excited when I found it again. I had washed it by hand the last time I used it and stored it in the plastic bag it came in back then. When I just went to retrieve it, it was sticking to the inside of the bag. I pulled it out and washed it by hand, then put it on the dish rack to dry. Right after, I noticed something black on my hand and then on the dish sponge. I touched the base of the slicer in several places and came back with black residue each time. It takes quite a bit of effort to remove the residue. There is no way the slicer can be used with food. This is very disappointing.

This is a heavy duty egg slicer. It does a great job - I slice my hard boiled eggs one direction then pick it up in one piece and turn it around and slice it again (90 degrees), making small "cubes" of egg. DO NOT PUT THIS IN THE DISHWASHER!! The instructions clearly state that and it's easy to clean with soap and water. I've tried so many egg slicers which are usually very cheap and the wires come undone. I'm glad I bought this one!!

The positive of this product is that it works. The slices come out well on the first pass through and the way that it's designed - with the rising cords - has allowed me to alter its use to dice boiled eggs (which is why I bought it) much faster than when I would cut them with a knife. If you're the engineering sort, then the limitations of the product won't pose much of a problem. It's easy to use and actually a bit fun too. The negative of this problem and the main reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because it is literally SATAN to clean. Bits of egg get trapped in the underside and between the grooves of the egg slot and the only way to get it out is (like others here have stated) is with a knife. And even then, things still get left behind. I had to try to take it a part by removing the screws just to clean it. I say "try" because the screws were incredibly difficult to remove and in the end I was only able to take out 2 of them. It would be nice if this product had worked for me in the way that I needed it but it just didn't. That's not to say it won't suit your purposes, it just wasn't for me. However, in any event, I assume that you'd want to clean it and that is where your biggest trouble will lie. Well that and using it to make multiple slices. Not impossible but will require some dexterity. I'm gonna see if I can remove the final 2 screws and use it free handed but if not I'll just have to buy something else.

Much more efficient with wires then the blades is some other models, that bend in time.

bought several of these over the years and this one is doing well. good quality, don't bother with the £4 supermarket ones, invest your money in one of these.

Loved my own so bought to use as a hostess gift for a friend.
