You feel the quality of this pen right away!
I’ve purchased three Lamy 2000 multicolor pens. (One lost, two had mechanical issues). I really enjoy using the Lamy 2000 multicolor pen for note taking, however, it’s a complicated design with flaws and I had to think hard about buying it for a fourth time.Because I have the entire Lamy 2000 line, I wanted to have the click pen in the collection, therefore, I’m giving the Lamy 2000 Ballpoint Pen Blackwood a shot and so far I will say that I’m impressed with the quality and workmanship of this pen. Though I lack the versatility of a multicolor pen, I cannot continue to invest on another Lamy 2000 multicolor pen due to its weak points, mainly the screw sections with the threads breaking easily and the piston locking up all the time.

Lamy 2000 ballpoint (Taxus)
I really appreciate this natural wood version of the iconic Lamy 2000 ballpoint pen. It is warm in the hand and so comfortable to write with. If Lamy made other versions (FR, RB, MP, multi-pen) of the 2000 in Taxus & Blackwood I would demand that Lamy would take my money immediately so that I could have them all. I’m a fan 😊

Great Pen
I like Lamy pens and this one is slightly larger that the Lamy 2000 ballpoint and very comfortable for older hands.

Looks Good and Feels Good.
It looks even better after several uses. It feels a little bit heavy at first; it feels fine after breaking in.

Overall a decent and well-made pen
The pen construction is solid and the retraction mechanism feels well-made. There was some gunk in the screw threads of the tip which unscrews to reveal the refill, which I spent some time wiping off with a piece of tissue paper. The refill writes quite decently but the line is not as dark as most Japanese ballpoint pen refills. Overall, a decent purchase which I hope will last me a lifetime.Update: I recommend the LAMY fine blue refill over the default LAMY medium black refill, as the former writes more smoothly and satisfyingly.

Excellent pen
LAMY Blackwood has been my favorite pen for over 10 years. Each pen has its own character and the wood will actually change a little over time. I have carried a blackwood daily. I like the pen so much that I purchased one for my son when he got a promotion at work. Very durable wood pen. I have had some trouble with the pocket clip on one of my pens, but they have repaired it for free both times that I returned it to them. And to keep that comment in perspective, that is two times in over ten years.

A very different take on the iconic Lamy 2000
If you’re expecting a wooden version of the Lamy 2000, you’ll be disappointed: it’s wood, alright, but over a brass body with a palladium finish that ends up feeling more like the equality iconic Lamy Studio in terms of balance.

Not your typical Lamy 2000
In weight and balance, this is much more like the Lamy Studio, with the Taxus seeming to be a few grams lighter than the Blackwood. My only issue is that it was advertised as coming with a fine-point M16 but arrived with a medium-point refill instead.
