The anti kink sleeves on each end are a nice touch, worth the extra two bucks IMHO over ...
I was working with this hose today in early November as a fast moving cold front dropped the temperature from 54º to 34º in less than a half hour. I did not notice any difference in handling the hose and it seems just a flexible as when working with it at 70º.It had been a few years since I had a compressor and I'd forgotten a few things. After reading reviews of PVC and polyurethane hoses remarking on their light weight relative to rubber, I nearly expected 50' of rubber hose to require two hands and a squat lift. It's just not that heavy. The advantages far outweigh the weight difference. It lays perfectly flat and again, remains flexible in the cold. What do cold weather gas stations use? Rubber. The anti kink sleeves on each end are a nice touch, worth the extra two bucks IMHO over the red hose. Though I agree with another reviewer, the red is nostalgic for early gas stations.Goodyear must be keeping an eye on it's licensees. The fittings look really solid and the hose arrived well packaged and without defect - no cuts or kinks or abrasions.I do not understand why this hose cannot be found locally in a city the size of Denver. A local parts store website said I could find it in store, but a clerk there said that in two years he'd never seen it. And the parts stores and home stores and others all sell 50' hose for only about $5-6 bucks less. With no tax and free shipping from this vendor, this is a good deal. Don't pay practically the same and end up with an inferior hose.

Paid For 50' Air Hose - Rec'd A Hose Only 24.5' Long
I rec'd this so-called 50' Air Hose today and it just didn't look right from the beginning. Didn't look to have enough coils to make 50'. I double-checked my order and the cardboard label around the hose and both said 3/8" x 50'. No problem there.I opened it up, uncoiled the hose and measured it with a 25' tape measure. Yep! 24.5' from tip-to-tip!!!If it was 49' or 49.5', no biggie. But short by more than half; no freakin' way I'm keeping it. And, if the replacement 50' hose is the same length, I'll repeat this procedure and keep returning them over and over until a true 50-footer shows up on my doorstep.I paid extra for the Goodyear name - so hopefully this is just an oversight on someone's part. If so, I'll update this rating accordingly. If not, get out your tape measures.*** UPDATE ***Well, once again Amazon and Michigan Industrial Tools have exceeded my expectations. I originally rated this hose 1-Star based on the mislabeling, but now I rate it 5-Stars based on the product quality and the support.I rec'd numerous emails with my Amazon RMA information and an order was automatically placed to ship a replacement hose to me. UPS picked up my "short" hose yesterday and I rec'd the replacement hose today, 1/24/14. It is indeed a 50' air hose so I'm good to go.I also need to commend Melissa and Holly at Michigan Industrial Tools for their help and assistance. A job well done, Ladies!!! They could not have been more helpful and attentive. As for the replacement air hose; I was pleasantly surprised at its quality and the flexibility even when cold. It had been sitting outdoors for several hours in the sleet, rain, and 28-30 degree temperature we're having here in Louisiana today. The 1/4" MNPT end-fittings are well made and securely attached. Looks like I should get many years of service from this hose with a reasonable amount of care. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a good quality air hose.

Very good stuff
I purchased 2 yellow Goodyear hoses for $25 each in 2001 at a swap meet. They worked great, but in the last year they got oily. I think the oil was coming from the inside of the hose out (from my air tool oiler) because I really do not where else the oil could come from. They are cheap enough that I decided to just replace them rather than try to clean them, especially since the I though the oil was comming from the inside. The new hose looked pretty much like the old one, but these were marked 250 PSI working pressure and the old one was marked 800 PSI burst pressure. The new ones also had the "bend restrictors" that are basically a short vinyl end that covers the last 8" of hose on either side. The bend restrictors seem a little loose fitting and I do not know how long they will stay put.Rubber hoses are really the only way to go if youare in a cold climate. They are flexible and lay flat. The PVC stuff is just too stiff for cool to cold weather. 3/8" hose is pretty much the most common size. Rubber hoses do pick up dirt relatively quickly, but that is a small price to pay for the other advantages. The connectors fit fine, and I had them on my hose reels in 15 min. They feel great and I expect another 12 years of service out of this new set.

better than the poly hoses
This is a good, sturdy air hose for air tools. It's heavier than the poly hoses, so I can imagine it would be an issue if you had a 100 feet of hose, but I like the heft for shorter lengths, like this 50 footer. The brass NPT ends are nice. Just understand that this hose does not come with quick connects pre-attached. These are male 1/4" NPT ends. Buy some good brass or steel fittings with some gas line teflon tape and it's ready to go. Mine is leak-free "out of the box" and comes with a ten year (!) warranty.
