Worked like a charm
I was able to use it as I intended... to clone my current Thinkpad T400s HDD's content to the new Crucial SSD that I bought. I used the partition management program EASEUS (free edition) and had no problem. After cloning the drive wont boot !!! because the drive's MBR wont be copied with that technique. so you have to, using the new non-booting drive, boot with the windows 7 dvd and go to the recovery console and type the commands: "bootrec /fixmbr" and "bootrec /fixboot" and presto ! your will be incredibly happy to have bought an SSD.

Works as advertised
Great cable, I bought it to get some data off a drive from a laptop that wouldn't boot, worked the first time I hooked it up, got everything transferred. Quality is good, does exactly what it advertises. If you need to buy something like this make sure you have the right interface, this is micro SATA but not all laptop drives use this interface.

Excellent product, always works as advertised
I use this product all the time in my capacity as a government IT specialist to access drives on small systems (e.g., HP EliteBook 2540p laptops). There's not much to say about it other than that it has never failed to work on me. When and if I have a need for another microSATA-USB converter, I will buy another one of these

Workers perfectly for backups!
I have a laptop with a 1.8" internal drive I simply could not image with the drive installed (it's an HP - enough said). I had to take it out to create an image of the drive and this adapter worked like a charm! Easy to use, my second computer had no trouble seeing the adapter and allowed me to complete the first backup of the drive in three years I owned it. I recommend this to anyone needing to work with 1.8" drives.

Does not work, do not buy!
I bought this item for a specific purpose, reading the micro SATA connectors on a 1.8" SSD inside a laptop. I connected everything up as I should, and plugged it into a USB port on my computer. The computer found the new hardware and started installing it. When it was done, the drive never showed up in my computer, and the adapter was only partially installed. I went back into the device manager, uninstalled the parts it did install, and did a device rescan. This time, it installed the entire adapter, listing as a removable drive inside my computer. Upon double clicking the icon, it told me it could not find any drive inserted. Thinking I might have an issue with my desktop, I tried the same with my laptop and the same thing occurred. I suspected the cable was crap, and ordered One of these instead. [...] I hooked this up to my existing Vantec hard drive reader and power supply,[...] and had no problems reading and copying the information I wanted off the SSD onto my computer. This is the first and last time I will buy a product from this seller/manufacturer. They say first impressions are everything, and my first impression is your products don't work!

Not for 1.8" mSATA SSDs
I purchased this item, "Micro SATA 1.8 Inch to USB 2.0 Adapter Cable" under the impression that it would fit the 1.8" mSATA SSD from one of my tablets. However, the cable that I received does NOT fit this specification. The only thing I can think of is that "micro SATA" represents a slightly different format from "mSATA"? (The cable is slightly too large for my drive). Perhaps the 1.8" mSATA connection for non-SSDs is different? This is all guesswork, but the bottom line is: it doesn't fit, hence it doesn't work. The product is probably great for its intended use, but it stopped me short in the middle of a fairly time-sensitive repair (and I haven't really been able to test whether or not the cable actually works), so I felt it necessary to knock off 2 stars for the product description being too vague.

It works!
I recently acquired a used 1.8" SSD and I was looking for a cheap way to try it out without breaking the bank. This little adaptor cable works like a charm. I will probably buy a regular SATA adaptor eventually and mount that little drive inside the PC but for now it works like it is supposed to.

Watchout! Only work with 1.8" mSATA drive, not with mSATA SSDs
I needed an adapter to retrieve data from my concatenated mSATA SSDs. Bought this adapter but it did not work for my intended purpose. My bad. Some more zoomed in pictures of the mSATA connector would help me to decide for sure whether this would work for me or not but there are none. Read carefully before you order this adapter as it may not work for you. I was able to use it on my 1.8" mSATA drive (the one that actually spins) (Not the mSATA SSD 'cards'). Two stars for not giving sufficient purchasing description and picture showing the zoomed-in view of the mSATA connector.
