Impressive for the size and price.
This is an impressive radio and worked great for jet skiing and being out on the water. It stored easily in my jet ski compartment and clipped securely to my life jacket. The signal and reception were excellent, even in coastal waters, and it picked up flawlessly. The volume is strong enough to hear broadcasts clearly over the sound of the motor. I really like that it’s rechargeable, floats, and is water resistant. For the price, it can be a true lifesaver. Don’t rely on your cell phone out on the water—this is the way to go.

Great basic marine radio for kayak trips
I had been planning to purchase a larger, more complex and much more expensive marine radio with GPS but didn't like the idea of running out of battery power midway through the trip and not having a working radio/GPS unit when I really needed one. It also seemed like a lot of money to spend on kayaking trips which I only get to do every couple of years. So, I opted for this simpler, more compact, and much cheaper marine radio for emergency purposes as well as for marine forecasts and also purchased a separate GPS unit. This was certainly the way to go! It has excellent battery life, decent reception and easily fits in a PFD pocket. And, because it was under $100 I don't mind it sitting in a drawer for a year or two until the next kayak trip. The GPS unit I got also has excellent battery life while also being compact and is usable for land and sea trips, unlike marine radios which are only to be used on water.

Great radio, but understand what happens if it gets wet.
This radio works great, until it gets wet, then hard to hear. Once dry, or the water is shaken from the speaker, back to normal. Read the instructions, but must have missed the part about shaking the water out of the speaker. Otherwise, great radio.

Great quality
Real nice for kayaking in the ocean, but make sure you know the rules before you buy!

This is a great product for when you’re on the water and there’s no service and you need to call for help.

It works, but has very little power and the volume is pretty low.

Good signal when my phone doesn’t have one.
Use this at Lake Cumberland, KY. Nice to have a backup when my phone loses signal.

Low power and low audio level
Very low power even at high power settings. You have to be really close about 200 feet for them to copy you. Very low audio level when you are on a boat. Terrible product and unusable.
