tiiosyse Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Tube Set, JJ Tubes (x4 6L6GC, x5 12AX7, x2 5U4GB), Apex Matched

Having run the stock Mesa tubes with EL34's for years I figured it was time to replace them. Wanting to go back to the stock 6L6's and researching everything possible about different tubes, I tried these.I did have one of the small tubes blow after a few hours use (it now sits as a bobble on me desk) but with the incredible customer service from amplifiedparts.com they had a replacement to me in a matter of days. You will want to shop with these guys.Having run them for a couple months, I'm very happy. Overdrive is warm an not overly aggressive at the 2 o'clock position in the modern mode. Distinct lows, but not boomy with clear highs, which are distinctive to the 6L6 tubes. The clean channel is where it really shines. In combination with my new power attenuator the sound is so incredibly rich that it has made my Dual Rectifier the hands down favorite amp...ever.

I'm using them in a Bugera Trirec.They do take a few hours of use to really come alive with their best sound. But once they do, they are FAR better than the stock Bugera tubes.I've never had any problems with JJ tubes they sound great to my ears. They are not the highest gain tubes however so if you need something really high gain I'd look elsewhere. JJs do seem to have the best price and thus best bang for the buck

Aside from there needing to be far too much back and forth on receiving a bad power tube (that's a customer service thing, not a product thing) the product is great. They match the sets and it does everything it's supposed to do.

Delivery and installation of this tube set went just fine. I don't think they have the same tonal quality that the Mesa brand tubes do. They're also more affordable than the Mesa tubes, so there is a trade off. The set is a good value for the money.

Tubes arived fast but the pre amp tubes went out after two weeks. Had to switch to my old tubes until I was able to pick new ones up from GC.
