Awsome kayak for the price
Great product. I purchased toward the end of summer for $94. So the the price does fluctuate with the season. Took me about 20min in set up the 1st time. About 15min for subsequent attempts. I've taken it out 3-4 times in the last 2 months. Collapses down small enough to fit in the trunk of a small car. The paddles work, but I felt were on the small side for me. This kayak is somewhat wide also. I ended up getting a 96inch paddle but i'm 5'10''. My 5 yr old daughter does ok with it. When I stretch out my legs, I have to tuck my feet to the sides of the front seat. The skin of the boat is reasonably strong. You'd have to scrape against some jagged metal or be hit head on by a hard pointy branch for this to puncture. For the boating itself, this craft is ok. It doesn't seem as smooth or can go as fast as a hard plastic boat. But that's fine considering it's $100-200 less. I even took it through some mild rapids (still choppy enough to splash me good) and it held up fine. The fin/skeg works fine and is easy to install but requires decent hand strength to remove (a good thing). It basically clicks in place and you have to push a tab down to remove it. I drilled a hole and put a fishing line through it in case the skeg falls off as suggested by others, but this is unnecessary. I even started heading away from shore once and the skeg, and only the skeg, hit an underwater boulder. I was going about 3mph when it hit and came to a dead stop, all 200+ lbs of the boat and people. The skeg edge was a little scratched but in place at the end. Maybe Intex updated the skeg after it 1st came out. I'm going to remove the fishing line before the next trip because it is unnecessary and gets seaweed, etc caught in it creating more drag. If you were to give me the choice (price not an issue) b/w a hard plastic boat and this, I'd pick the hard boat. That said, I'm very happy with this very inexpensive and easy to transport kayak.

Excellent Kayak! Very fun and good quality for the price!
Great kayak and excellent for the price. Works well and is comfortable enough, although clearly not as maneuverable and has a tendency to drift as compared to a traditional solid kayak. Comfortably fits 2 people, but no more. A fantastic purchase that I have gotten a lot of use from. So far the plastic has been durable and there have been no leaks. Assembly/disassembly isn’t too difficult. It is also nice that the unit included the paddles and the hand pump. All works as intended.

Sturdy and durable. Get separate seats for it that are more comfortable
It’s good quality and easy to inflate and deflate quickly. It’s safe and durable. It holds my self and a dog so a decent weight close to 300. The seats on it are awful and I would recommend buying separate ones. These do not stay well and often become uneven or the straps loosen which cause the seat to move and you are relying on major back muscles. For smaller people the seats are better. Make sure to use the shark fin for straight movement. Paddles are easy to assemble and sturdy. Been enjoying this for the lake. It comes with a bag to pack and everything can fit in it

I love my kayak!
My bestie and I each ordered these kayaks last spring. We spent the summer on the lake day after day kayaking around. I love the convenience of being able to inflate and deflate quickly. We have electric pumps, but the hand pump is honestly quicker and easier. The kayaks aren't super heavy, we were easily able to carry the kayak in it's carrying bag and then tossed our paddles and life jackets in the back of her SUV. In it's bag, I am able to fit it in the trunk of my small 4 door subcompact. At the end of a day on the lake, we were able to each grab an end and pack the kayaks onto shore. There are quick-release valves to remove the air so we pulled the valve and then slowly folded and layed on the kayak to squeeze out as much air as possible. We hung the kayaks up at the end of the season to make sure they were 100% dry and then just folded them back up and put in their bag for next summer! The only negative I can think of is that The seats move around a lot when buckled in. I am a heavy woman (5'6" 230 lbs) and just need more back support while I'm out on the water all day. I had a large cooler and put my back up to that and it helped, but I will definitely be on the lookout for a new option before next summer. These kayaks both came quickly and were priced well. She bought hers on Prime day for about 112.00, and I purchased mine a few weeks later not on sale for right under 150.00. Great deal, and quality product. The heavy duty PVC is very sturdy and I had no qualms pulling the kayak up on the cement boat ramp to dry out. Great product and will likely purchase again for my sister and mother!

Shockingly durable
I admit I was nervous to use this at first, but at such a low price I thought if I could get one use before it pops it will be equal to renting a canoe for the day. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The durability is exceedingly better than I expected, which I accidently put the test my third time on the water. The lake I was on has broken tree limbs sticking out all over the banks. Heading back to the boat ramp paddling at a good clip I managed to go straight on top of a broken branch sticking about a foot and a half out of the water which was hidden by the front of the kayak as I was in the boat alone. It hit it dead center, it lifted the kayak out of the water and stopped me with the branch ending up right underneath my seat. I immediately pictured the pop, and started to come up with a plan since I wasn't close to the boat ramp and it was getting dark with a water temp below 60. But that never happened. No pop, no leak, but I was stuck. I paddled backward and with some effort managed to get off the branch. Paddled back to the ramp, flipped the kayak over, and found that there was not even a scratch! I am impressed. I have used the boat 4-5 times, not one issue so far. I view that as a great value even if it popped on the next trip. I feel confident enough to take this kayak on the nearby river for my yearly 10-16 mile trip. I also use this for fishing, and while I am careful of hooks, I am not nervous anymore. The skeg that is included is sturdy and stays in place even if you hit bottom. Keeps the kayak on track fairly decent. With one person the seat can be placed roughly in the middle with ample space in front and behind for legs and gear. With two people, leg room is a little less but still not bad. The back tests are supported by a buckle strap that attaches to the boat and it works well. I am just as comfortable as any other kayak. The portability means I can take this boat at any time in any car to any place I want. You won't regret this purchase

Better than you would expect
I bought this with the intention of carrying it on the motorcycle. I often end up hanging out by a scenic lake or river and I would be so jealous of the folks on the water but didn't want to be restricted to my car to carry a kayak. This boat is way more durable than I expected and I can have it fully inflated and ready to go in around 15 minutes. I've already had it out three times and I've paddled several miles with my only complaint being the seat sitting a little low. The wind pulls it pretty easily but I also had no trouble paddling against it. I've never kayaked before but I was moving right along and felt very stable, even going over the wake from motorboats. This kit seriously comes with everything you need except for a lifejacket. I've only used it by myself so I cannot attest to it's two-up capabilities - I only got this model because I also hunt fossils and wanted plenty of space for my gear. Even if this only lasts me for this summer, I would have no problem buying a new one for next year. I feel like the fun I've already had with it has been worth the money.

Comfy, durable, fun
Update, 3rd summer season, 2018 Bumped to 5 stars. I still LOVE it. It’s maintained its durability, and I’ve had no problems with holes, leaks, or failing valves- this is enjoying the kayak several times per week, with my dog on board. I use a cheap yoga mat on the floor of the boat for extra protection. *We both, me and my dog, always wear a life vest! I love the portability and ease of set up and take down. I did decide to buy a power pump that plugs into my car. This quickens the set up process, and is especially helpful with complete deflation. A note- the power pump has a safety feature that results in the sections not fillling up as much as I would like. So, I use the power pump, then top off with the manual one. I did seem to lose track of the skeg, however, but I was able to order a replacement directly from intexstore.com, and entered 11650 (the part #) into the search bar. It cost $3.40 plus shipping. If you’re on the fence about this, or are looking for intro equipment to try out kayaking without a huge financial commitment, I can not recommend this particular product enough. Go for it! Living in an area that abounds in natural recreation, I've been debating purchasing a kayak for years. I been on many different hard types via rentals over the years, but the investment in both a kayak, and some type of frame to transport it on my car were definitely prohibitive factors. After a lot of online research, I decided to give an inflatable a try. One of the key requirements was that it was durable enough to bring a dog. This definitely fits the bill. I've taken it out several times, now, and I have to say that I love it. Some of the pros: Easily transportable in any vehicle Easily set up- it takes me about 10-15 minutes, from vehicle to water Durable (I have brought 2 of my 3 dogs, nails trimmed) Roomy Very comfortable Moves well in the water The two dual valves are very reliable Some of the cons: Heavy (it's best to inflate in a location close to the water if possible) Not a one-person task for anyone with any physical limitations (I'm guessing) Paddle is a bit flimsy. I ordered a Day Tripper, which is much better Instructions are a bit lacking Pool-toy style of valves are difficult to manage Deflation can be tedious I chose the two-seater so that I could accommodate another person, or a dog. If you do go with this kayak, I recommend you set it up in your home first to get the hang of the inflation process, and make sure everything is in working order. The manual pump is quite easy to use, and it inflates the kayak quickly. I purchased a small motor pump, mostly for the deflation feature, as getting all of the air out can be challenging- especially the floor, which for some reason does not have the dual valve feature. There is a plug in the rear of the kayak which you should make sure is secure before getting in the water. The intention of this plug is to be able to drain any water from the kayak when done. This is not in the manual, and we found this out the hard way. If you intend to bring your dog, I recommend trimming and filing nails, and make sure he has a life jacket (I recommend Outward Hound). Also, I purchased an inexpensive yoga mat to put inside the kayak on the floor, just for extra protection, and to give more of a feel of stability under their paws. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time exploring in it this summer.

Nice boat at a nice price. Will it last?
Nice, lightweight, functional boat at a good price. It gets four stars for the materials used. I question how long this will last. The material is only slightly thicker than a cheap pool toy. I am sure if I scrape this on something, it will be done. I will say it tracks well with the fin installed and two people paddling. Quality oars.
