Benchmark-40004 Popcorn Packs 4 oz (24 Packs)

This is by far the best popcorn we have bought yet. After getting out machine, the first brand we tried was Snappy popcorn snap-packs. I thought that was good. The next brand we bought was Great Northern - yuck! I was going to go back to Snappy, but then saw this brand come up in my search, and it was about $3-4 cheaper. So, I thought we'd go ahead and try this one. I am not disappointed. I love the taste, just the right amount of salt and buttery taste for me. My husband likes the crunch of the popcorn. He thought Snappy was too chewy. It is a clean pop, too. One of my complaints about Great Northern was the mess it made. For whatever reason, their oil junked up my popper - the kettle, the glass, everything! Benchmark has not done that. So - neater, tastes great, and it's cheaper - this is a winner for me!

This popcorn is great and our family enjoys it every time we watch a movie in our son’s theater.

I used to work for a popcorn machine manufacturing company, so I have a pretty good understanding of popcorn popping, kernel expansion, old maids, etc... These 4 oz. popcorn packets worked out great. Make sure you put the oil packet in your popper and allow sufficient time for the oil to melt and reach the proper temperature. The kernels seemed fresh, and popped quickly and expanded nicely. The flavor was nice. Not to salty, and not too much of that fake buttery flavor. There were a few old maids, but not more that other popcorn brands I've used. I'll be buying again.

I bought this Benchmark Popcorn to compare to Great Northern Popcorn. I also wanted to save the $9.00 per case difference buying this popcorn as our household goes through a lot of popcorn. Also all microwave popcorns are not even close to real cooked popcorn so that is why I buy these portion packs.First I have been buying Great Northern for a long time. I have always liked it and never had a reason to change until I saw this price difference. That being said I see a lot of Great Northern reviews stating that it is too salty. To me that was not a problem. The oil and seasoning were plentiful and did a good job of coating all the kernels. Almost all kernels popped to a great textured & firm popcorn. Still I can see some people wanting a lighter alternative.Benchmark Popcorn is very good. It has less salt and butter flavor than Great Northern which some people may like. The popped kernels are lighter and fluffier. I think they put less oil in the package so this may be a healthier popcorn. The downside is because there is less oil and salt it has less taste. Also some of the popcorn ends up being white and not yellow because there is not enough seasoning to cover all the kernels. Overall I think it is a good popcorn but wish it had a little more oil and seasoning.My personal opinion is Great Northern Popcorn is a little better. If you had them side by side in a taste test you would probably agree.If you have the money Great Northern Popcorn is a good choice. I will still enjoy this case of Benchmark Popcorn as any real popped popcorn beats a microwave popcorn and I save $9.00 per case.

I love this stuff and so does my family! Whether I pop it on the stove, in the microwave, or in my Stir Crazy popper, it is wonderful. I keep in the fridge to make getting the oil mix out easily. I ordered this several times and never disappointed.

Makes great tasting popcorn. Love the convenience of the all in one packets. It has the perfect blend of popcorn, seasoning salt and seasoned coconut oil to make great tasting pop corn every time. Just open pour in packets and enjoy great tasting movie theater pop corn at home. You will notice several un-popped kernels, this is due to the popping kettle as the popped kernels force some un-popped kernels out of kettle when pooping gets violent. I recommend this to anyone who has a kettle popper.

I had been buying various premium popcorn, coconut oil with beta carotene for coloring, and Flavacol on Amazon and making my own popcorn portion packs. I thought I'd try the Benchmark 40004 Popcorn Portion Pack for 4 Ounce Popper as a convenience item. The popcorn popped with few unpopped kernels, but the kernels were smaller, and the popcorn was less flavorful than the gourmet popcorn to which I had become accustomed. Despite having less flavor, the popcorn was a bit saltier than I like. It seemed that the predominant flavor was "salty". This seemed like so-so microwave popcorn, after I had grown accustomed to movie popcorn at home. I'll eat it, but I won't serve this popcorn to my friends or family, and I'll continue to buy the ingredients and package my own so there is a minimum amount of fuss and bother on movie night. I put half a cup of popcorn in zip lock bags, and I put half a teaspoon of Flavacol in a 2 ounce portion cup (the little plastic cups used for salad dressing at salad bars) and almost fill the rest of the cup with coconut oil. I keep the coconut oil in the fridge or freezer to keep it solid in the summer, so it pops out of the plastic cup without leaving any residue. It's not much trouble to package my own single use packs, and its worth the effort to use good ingredients and package the popcorn in individual portion sizes for my Great Northern hand crank popper.

I was pretty impressed with this for quality, seeing the name brand for more than double the price, I really wanted to check this out.It has great flavor and seems to strike a perfect balance between butter, salt, and corn ratio.. Personally I could use a dash more salt, but I like things really salty so it's perfect for most people.My kids are selling a ton of this on the street and expect to be purchasing more for them soon
