Definately a Great Book - Changed My Life!
After all these years, I thought I was tithing, but in reality, I was just giving 10%, that money and the rest wasn't blessed. The very first check I write now goes to the church, I write it immediately, before anything else, then hold it til Sunday, That first 10%, puts the blessing on my other 5%, to be multiplied, then I write my other checks, house, utilities, food, gas etc. I have saved money on purchases, shipping charges, overdue cost that was charged against me, and learned a new method of using it to my favor in my day trading with stocks. All in all I'd say I have made or saved well over $1,000 since I have applied these measures. I am high on these principles and hope to share it with our next bible study group. Also gave a copy to our minister, he said he was going to discuss it in a future service, Praise God, in just two months, what a blessing! ...Chuck

The concept is key
First, the bad: the book is not very well-written, and the title unfortunately appears to have been crafted in attempt to gain sales to non-Christians.Now, the good: Morris is right-on in expressing on paper a concept he's understood and preached for more than 20 years. He shares through stories, and some biblical texts (though some are taken out of context), his experience of sowing seed into efforts and ministries which build God's kingdom. He breaks down what God's instructions were to he and his wife: 1) Get out of debt, 2) Never manipulate people, and 3) Give.By the end of the (short) book, you'll want in on the blessed life, not because of what you'll get, but rather in order to participate in what God's doing right now. After reading this, and maybe even before finishing it, you'll be ready to live it out.

Nothing we haven't heard already, but...
Maybe I was just needing to hear it again. Maybe it was the way Morris framed it in this book. But it struck me as new and challenging and exciting: how to give your money away, how to look your checkbook in the face and acknowledge that nothing you own is yours, everything belongs to God, and give it back to God to see what will happen in your life. I found it one of the most challenging books about the believer and his or her money that I've read in a long time. I've given several copies away to people who are struggling with this area of their lives. Now I'm waiting to hear back from them, and I have no doubt that they will find it challenging and exciting too.

easy read
Robert Morris' heart may indeed be that of a giver and I think he truly believes what he says to be true. However, after careful research through the Old and New Testament I found some of his ideas to be flawed. He cherry picks certain verses to support some of his views and has even misinterpreted others. He omits certain points in some verses to make a point and also takes many out of context in order to drive his beliefs, using fear of a curse to compel people to give a tenth of their income to the church. He's like many churches today that try to compel people to give and is able to do this because many Christians don't study the word of God well enough to recognize truth and error when they hear it,(I've listened to his sermon series as well). Please I urge you who read this book to do the research through God's word for yourselves. Divide the word of truth knowing we are no longer under the curse of the Old Testament Law, Christ nailed the requirements of the ordinances to the cross and we are actually under grace thereby requiring we surrender all we have according to how the Holy Spirit directs us. If you decide you must keep one ordinance to be right with God than you under all the law. These pastors, are only people, and can be mislead just as easily as anyone. Seek God's will. The church is comprised of the people of God,not just those that preach the word and collect a salary from the church. God cares for His people and wants us to care and supply the needs of the needy and the poor. Just be careful reading this, it's flawed in certain ways. I also reject the boastful way he talks of his own giving. On the plus side, Robert Morris makes a great point about giving being a heart issue and that we must determine the motive of our hearts, which are to be love and gratitude. God does own it all. So there are some very good points he makes, it's the legalistic teaching that is wrong and the misappropriating of verses I oppose. It's an easy read, though I think a better book would be one about stewardship of all we have according to God's word.

Excellent!
This book helped my husband and me to truly understand the Biblical principals of tithing and giving. For years he and I didn't see eye to eye on tithing. We both have a very giving heart and have been told we have the gift of giving, yet that doesn't mean we were actually "tithing" in the true sense of the word, and there wasn't much I could do about it but pray. However, because of this book, my husband "gets it" now, and has become a much better and "happier" tither. Yay God! I don't know if I could have gotten him to read this book on his own, but because I suggested our small group study it together, he kind of had to! And he's glad he did. :) This is an EXCELLENT book.

One of My Top 10 Books - EVER!!!
This book is the GREATEST book EVER for Christians! It's on tithing and giving but don't separate those out from the rest of our Christian walk - they're simply the FIRST!!! Robert Morris was chosen by God to do EXTRAORDINARY EXPLOITS for JESUS - to exemplify and teach the Body of Christ what's possible through "right giving." I could go on and on about the MIRACLES Pastor Morris has seen as a result of his obedience - but rest assured, it's ASTOUNDING what happened/s to him and what WILL HAPPEN TO US when we obey. This book is a MUST READ for EVERY CHRISTIAN!!! And...it may convince unbelievers TO CHRIST!!!

Amazing Preacher
One of the seven books I am currently reading. This pastor is amazing to listen to, and I am utterly thrilled that I get to listen to him, either via the church website, or by looking up his sermons and studies on Youtube.

Balanced biblical economics!
This book resonates with a faithful interpretation of scripture relating to all things financial and material. I thoroughly recommend it as a balanced, well researched study with lots of practical application too.

This book is Magic
I chose to give it 5 stars due that I had been searching a way to reconcile God and Money. This book has thought me that I can have the gift to Give and that is OK with God. Maybe this is God's way for him to use me to bless others.I have bought 2 more books to give away!Buy it, you will not regret it.JL.

Best Book I have read on giving
I thought the book was excellent. It brought a new light on the aspect of giving to the Lords work. I highly recommended it. Gave a copy to Pastor, and another one to who ever will read it in the church.
