A beginner's guide to basic homeopathic remedies for minor ailments and illnesses This accessible compendium covers the history of homeopathy, an explanation of its principles, and advice on dosage. In addition to a reference guide to natural remedies for common ailments and injuries, it also contains sections on homeopathy for children and pets. With Homeopathic Medicine At Home , you'll learn: โข What is homeopathy? โข What to have in a home remedy kit โข How to prevent and treat colds, coughs and earaches โข Remedies for stomach and bowel problems โข Homeopathic care for babies and children โข What homeopathy can do for women โข How to keep your pets healthy โข Remedies and their abbreviations Review: MUST HAVE BOOK FOR EVERY FAMILY - I have been using Homeopathy for over 12 years for my entire family and have over 30 books on the topic. This book and "The peoples Repertory" by Luc De Schepper are my two favorite for common ailments. Mine is so well loved I had to ductape it, in order to keep it together. What I absolutely love is the simple tables at the end of each section that make it so easy to tally up your symptoms and which remedy suits you best. I have put tabs on each table to make it easy to pull up the right table right away when I need it. it covers injuries, insect bites, colds, coughs, headaches, teething, stomach upsets and so much more. The tables also include a "better from" and "worse from: section that also makes it easy to start feeling better right away. If it says better from dark room, I close the blinds. Better from cold food helps me stop pushing hot soup and instead give my kid a fruit salad with cottage cheese. If you only have 2 homeopathy books on your shelf, it should be this one and the "the peoples repertory". Review: Easy to understand... - This is a very good basic book to have on hand. It has 11 chapters with titles such as: What is homeopathy? How to prevent and treat colds, coughs and earaches. What homeopathy can do for women. Most chapters have charts that help narrow down which remedy would be the best selection for a paticular condition. (For example, there are several remedies that can help when you have a cold, however since the symptoms of a cold can vary, the chart can help you narrow down which remedy will be the most helpful based on your current symptoms.) The back has an Appendix that has 4 sections titled: Remedies and their abreviations. Mini-repertory Materia Medica Pharmacies carrying homeopathic medicines. There are 287 pages, including the index, so even though this is a great basic book, it has a lot of information. I find that because of the way the book is arranged, it's very easy to find things quickly.

Great help.
This is a great introduction to homeopathy. I was my first exposure to this form of treatment. The author is clear and informative. Best of all, I have had so much success following the guidelines.

Helpful Reference for Homeopathy
This book has been a useful addition to my homeopathy library. It's organized in a way that makes it easy to look up common ailments and find suggested remedies without having to dig through multiple sources. I especially appreciate having a quick reference guide available at home when questions come up. The information is easy to follow, even for someone who is still learning, and it covers a wide variety of everyday situations. I've already found myself reaching for it several times. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I would have liked a little more detail and explanation in some sections. Still, it's a practical resource and a good starting point for anyone interested in learning more about homeopathic remedies.

The Go-To Bible for newbies
This is my second copy. I bought it for my daughter-in-law who is pregnant and studying natural medicines. I was given my copy over 30 years ago and used it constantly as my children were growing. It is easy to read and a fascinating overview of what homeopathic medicine is, how it came about and how incredibly it works. I live in Australia. I bought it almost a month ago and we still haven't received it so I can't attest to having had this copy in my hands but I can attest to its excellence. It's a great book.

This book has helped alot! You can inform your self.
I am able to find answers for use of my Homeopathic meds. Though I have help with a friend who has been learning this for a long while, I can research by myself and then can discuss with her better having studied myself and the can ask questions and know what works for me. Being educated in what you put in your body is important.

It's great for beginners
I ordered this book, read reviews, cancelled as a result, then re ordered as I wanted to give it a chance. So the info is very basic with a list of few selected remedies and all the ailments centres around these remedies, mostly childhood, pregnancy, digestive issues. And how to make a diagnosis using symptoms combined with personality. Alot of focus on babies and kids and pregnancy, not necessarily women's issues, but only women issues related to pregnancy. A very important section on accidents snd emergencies which really increase the value of the book for me. Disappointed because I felt a lot was left out, like for growing child we all know kids should deworm every 6 months or so, yet there is no reference to this. Women's section disappointed as nothing about yeast nfections which are common, and a mention of menopause but no info about remedies for these life stage. The stories and examples are a good read as she links different patients to their symptoms and explains how she decided on the remedy. As a beginner I liked it though, and would keep it as reference for most childhood issues and digestive troubles . My almost 10 year old thoroughly enjoyed it and decided she will be a homeopath when she grows up, haha. I would recommend this for pregnant and mums with young kids. As for myself I will keep this but continue searching for a more comprehensive guide.

Good addition to your homeopathy reference book library.
Decent book.. of course alone it is not sufficient. For a home prescriber it is a valuable addition to the homeopathic reference book library. It gives a good perspective of how homeopathy was practiced about 30-40 years ago. Common sensical tips are given for each problem, including diet tips - something which you donโt find in modern books. Modern homeopathy disassociates common sense practices and diet from homeopathy. Itโs not useful for a professional obviously.
