Forney 72747 Wire Bench Wheel Brush, Fine Crimped with 1/2-Inch and 5/8-Inch Arbor, 6-Inch-by-.008-Inch

Good price for a well made brush wheel. I put this on a 6" bench grinder and appreciate that the wheel is decently balanced, such that it causes minimum vibration when running. The fine wire is perfect for stripping calcium deposits and polishing metal threads and fittings, and for removing paint and rust from most metal surfaces. This fits both 1/2" and 5/8" shafts; there is a plastic bushing that reduces the 5/8" opening to 1/2". It's important that you slide the wheel onto the grinder with the open side facing out, or the bushing will slide off the wire wheel when you install. Virtually all wheels come with this bushing, and I recommend hanging on to the ones from old wheels, just in case you lose one or need. I'm very satisfied with this purchase, and am glad that I saved a few dollars by not buying a larger name brand.

Decent quality - seems to only lose wires when hitting corners on items being brushed. The balance/vibration is good/smooth.

Need bushings or washers or something to hold wheel away from the grinder. They are Not supplied. After that the wheel itself works as expected.

Purchased for buffing corrosion off various metal things. The .008 wire is about as stiff as you would want to use for this. I normally use .006 in stainless steel but they are quite expensive in comparison.

Work's perfect on my 6 inch Bauer Grinder. I added 4 washer's to the inside of the wheel which shimmed and centered it perfectly.

Great wire wheel, just what I needed for many projects.

Does the job but bristles, stiff sharp wires, came off with first few uses.
