A interesting read
This book is really hard to describe. Without spoiling itNow if your reading this review you've properly heard of Patrick Combes.A motivational speaker and now a well known figure financiallyThe story is true which makes it all the more amazing and funnyYou properly have a bank account or a credit card. Now personally I've never had a great account just a average one and my interest has always been low to nil. So this story made me laugh as at first it seemed like a bit of revenge, but it's really about such more than that.basically Patrick receives a fake check and decides to put it in his account for a joke and then the bank cashes itSurprised he expects the money to go soon but is told its legally his as the check has not been bounced in the legal time period. Sounds great it's to,late to legally get the money back off him so he's good right? Wrong the bank realises they messed up and refuse to admit guilt. They expect Mr Combes to just give up, they underestimate himWhat follows is a complicated and often funny tale which makes you think about how much you really understand the system we all use dailyI don't want to spoil the outcome but what I liked about this book aw Mr Combes honesty, as much as I admire this guy he did some daft things in this book but hey O'd have done it worse. It's easy to say that if you have the facts patrick is an honest and funny narrator. He jumps from big things to discussions with his brother and family. It's also interesting to see his motives aren't the money but simply for acknowledgementHe even laments that cashing the check properly was a daft thing to,do but refuses to be pushed aroundI know it sounds like he's in the wrong cashing the check but the thing so many people forget is it was a joke and to top all that off Patrick breaks no laws. Me I would give in without question. I'm afraid of offending authority, Patrick is just an ordinary guy but he's very brave. That's why this book,is,worth reading

Love Mr. Combs...no love for the packaging
Saw Mr. Combs at a conference and loved him! Was so excited to receive this, I bought it as a Christmas gift! Imagine my disappointment when the DVD arrived and the case was broken! With Christmas right around the corner, I don't see a replacement getting here by when I need it...so it is what it is I guess!

One of the funniest stories I've ever read.
This is one of my favorite books. I am a law student and actually used this book in a class on banks and checking law for a presentation. I think the professor was impressed, and I want to believe that he got the book because of the unusual story.

A Must Read Incredible Story
This story has to be read to be believed, and who better to share it than the remarkable man who lived it. Combs is an outstanding storyteller, warmly relating the full scale of intrigue and emotions he--and we--go through in this funny, touching and inspirational true story. Enjoy the ride and keep your eyes open for the movie!

I loved every bit of it
I've read the full story of this before it was a book. A true epic tale of the rules that banks must follow, yet at the same time, cannot possibly meet. And how the banks behave when the inevitable failure happens. I loved every bit of it!

I loved Man 1 Bank 0!
I read this story before it was published. I howled and marveled at the preposterous behavior of the bank as well as Patrick testing the system by depositing the advertising check. I myself have sent those kind of letters in the mail. Apparently, my check letter wasn't as real as the one Patrick received. I also purchased Patrick's DVD by the same name - very entertaining and a story you will share with friends and family.

Wildly Entertaining!
When I picked up this book it was around 10:00pm. I thought I'd read a few pages and then go to bed... Next thing I knew I was turning the last page in the wee hours of the morning! This is a fabulous and fun read. You have to check it out!Roland Byrd, Author The Pi of Life

far too expensive for what you get... in reality it justifies a short "op-ed" piece. It's quite a small/short book anyway, but could have done with being about 2-3x smaller/shorter. The author pads out hugely in the middle by simply cut/pasting huge quantities of emails inside it.Oh well.. chalk this one down to "caveat emptor"
