Inaugural Presidential Address - Official Transcript Paperback – July 6, 2010

I have read many inaugural addresses, yet this one really resonates with the theme of hope and change. President Obama's demeanor embodied everything a US President should be. Here we are 8 years from when this address was made and we still have quite a bit of work to do in this country.This address is just what the country needed to hear, yet was not fully willing to accept at that time. It was great watching this address 8 years ago, but reading this delivers impact on a whole new level.

Whether you like a particular president or not, I think it is important to have that President's Inaugural Addresses available for students.I'm hoping that eventually all Addresses will be made available. I'd like to go back and read President Reagan's speech, and that of Eisenhower, among others.As far as spelling and format, I didn't note any problems with this transcript. I read this online for Free using Amazon's Cloud reader.

This item was ordered just to be able to have an archived copy of President Obama's inaugural address, which I thought was one of the best I've ever heard. So it is serving its purpose, and maybe one day I will have a chance to have him autograph it!

Although I had watched the Inaugural Address, there were parts of it I had forgotten. Reading it and seeing the words on the page gave me the opportunity to experience it at my leisure.

I have a book that I bought several years ago containing the Inaugural Presidential Addresses. I update that book each time a president is elected. I was quite happy with the Inaugural Address book that I bought containing Obama's first inaugural address.

His speech is, of course, largely fluff; that's only to be expected. The saddest part is lines like "the stale political arguments have consumed us for so long no longer apply" and "we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the line of tribe will soon dissolve". Yea, you sure made that happen, champ.
