Night Terrors SUCK!
My six year old son suffered from horrible night terrors. He would wake up and start running up and down the hall of our house from his room to my room. He was terrified, he couldn't speak and I could not stop him. If I held him down, it make everything worse. If I let him run I felt like a horrible mom that couldn't comfort her son. I spend days research night terrors online, read books and talked to doctors. I was at my wits end when I found Lully. Although pricey, I was willing to pay twice the amount if it stopped the night terrors. The Luly device is placed under your child's mattress and it's paired with your smartphone. You answer some questions about your child's sleep habits on the Luly app and then you tell Lully when your child has gone to bed. The Lully is completely based on a timer - when the timer goes off you activate the bluetooth signal that makes the Lully device vibrate. My initial concern with Lully was that my son was essentially sleeping on an active Bluetooth signal all night long. I never got over this issue but still figured Lully would be worth a shot. The first night is kind of a testing phase where you can adjust the level of vibration so that your child stirs in their sleep, ensuring that they do not fall into a deep sleep too fast. This process is kind of frustrating. Some nights he needed a light vibration where others he would need more vibration and there is no way to adjust without starting the app over and losing your nightly data. The worst part for me was that if all he needed was a light vibration but I had it on a heavier vibration from the night before it would actually trigger a night terror. Now, night terrors are horrible - but when you actually trigger one - you see your child sit up straight in the bed - terrified - still asleep - and then starts running up and down the hall - talk about feeling like a horrible mother. After I triggered the second night terrors I took away the Lully and never used it again. I kept using the timer idea that Lully is based off of. 45 minutes after my son fell asleep I would lightly stroke his arm or belly to get him to stir. I have never triggered a night terror this way and I am so so so happy to say that he has been night terror free for 3 months!! I realize that this may just be a good phase and they can come back - but I am still so happy that he isn't currently experiencing them.To wrap this up, I LOVE the thought process of the Lully. I love the science behind the sleep cycles and the thought that night terrors can be caused when a child enters deep sleep to rapidly. I do not like that my child has to sleep on an active Bluetooth all night long without knowing the consequences. I do not like that I could potentially cause my son to have a night terror based on the level of vibration.Personally, I think Lully would be perfect if they would just sell the app - the timer that you can interact with to show when your child went to sleep, you can choose when they need to be stirred and you can keep track of the occurrences of night terrors. I don't need the Bluetooth vibrator.

Didn't work for us.
My son would wake up anywhere from 11PM-1AM almost every night because of night terrors, so I thought this would be perfect for that scenario. We tried it for about 5 weeks, and it didn't seem to work. We used the app, turned it down to about level 3 vibration where it would stir him for several seconds, but he'd fall back asleep around 11PM, but he kept waking up around 12-1AM still.Other than that, I think the product is pretty easy to use and set up, so 3 stars for that.

It really does work! No more extreme episodes!!!!!
This has been super helpful for our just turned 3 year old daughter. A friend of mine suggested it, and at that moment, I was so desperate for something to help us that I bought it on the spot. She had extreme night terrors frequently, and on nights without night terrors, she was a poor sleeper who woke frequently. Since we purchased the Lully, approx. 6 weeks ago, we have had greatly improved sleep patterns and NO extreme terrors. As others mentioned, set up is very easy. The vibrations on our machine are turned all the way up, and sometimes she does not stir within the 3 minutes. This can usually be helped along with a little touch, but we do need to be in the room and fairly close to ensure that she does move/rouse. I should also note that our child is on a pretty consistent sleep schedule, and so I can't say much as to it's capability to predict without a scheduled bedtime.I have also never gotten the alerts correctly set, so I just set an alarm at the time Lully suggests to make sure we don't miss the window. This may very well be due to the settings on my phone, not the actual Ap. All in all, it is a very simple device that seems to be effective and has allowed all of us to get much better sleep! We will definitely continue to use it daily!

Great concept, poor execution.
Returned after trying it for 2 weeks. The makers of this product seem to think me an idiot.Packaging is nice and what you would expect from a top-class gadget.Setup is easy. But too easy: There is very little explanation as to what is going on (or what to expect). I eventually figured out that there was a process to 'train' or 'calibrate' the buzzer to your child's needs - over the course of a few nights. The problem is this 1) I don't like not knowing what to expect 2) when your kid is having difficulty sleeping the last thing you need is something that will make it unpredictably worse.Furthermore, I consider myself a very tech saver user. I didn't appreciate how the device is locked into a 'simple user' mode without any real control over what it is doing.

Hopefully you will have results more quickly than we did
We went from a night terror every night to maybe 2 nights a week without night terrors. The severity of the night terrors may have slightly improved. This is after around 5 weeks of constant use.My daughter always wants to stay up forever which means I have to stay up forever plus 20 minutes. As we have had some improvement I am going to stick with it and hope she will show even more improvement.UPDATE: after another week of using this we finally had the results we were looking for and she stopped having night terrors. We stopped using it after that and we were night terror free for 3 months or so. Then they crept back into our nightly routine. We are now starting round 2 of using Lully.
