Felt terrible with product at first, but loving it now
Even though I had seen the bad reviews of this product, I went ahead and purchased it because my experience with the Belkin N300 was very good. I however had the same problems other customers had with the Belkin N750 which was losing connection every time my computer went idle. I went online to get answers to the problem and the reviews where even worse as no one could say how to solve the problem. I finally contacted Belkin Cares, who replied me a day later (which was better than what I expected, considering how bad they were represented by other customers online). They asked that I confirm stability of connection, reload firmware, then reset and reconfigure router. Adjust the router's wireless settings. Set the 2.4GHz wireless channel to 6, 9, 11, or 1. I first tried channel 6 which was stable enough and now I am on channel 11 and it is so stable, the speeds are amazing and I am now loving my Belkin again.I only wish I did not have to go through all those issues of intermittent connections. Belkin do something so that your customers do not go through this initial frustrations and lose us to other router manufacturers.

Eventually Got Connection
I had some initial problems getting connection, so I call the Belkin Customer Service/Tech Support. The communication barrier added to my frustration; not sure which country the support center is located in, but his only suggestion was to call my internet service provider to fix the problem. Did that, but everything seemed to be okay on their end; still couldn't get the router to recognize my computer. They did suggest swapping out the Belkin LAN cable with the existing one I had; got off the phone and performed the swap. Problem fixed! Apparently, Belkin sent a defective cable. With the exception of having to reboot the computer once to re-establish connection the product has worked quite well. My 4 start rating is based on the poor (pitiful?) customer service; as many of you have experienced, it's frustrating to call for help and get someone who's command of the English language is best served in a fast food restaurant or a coffee shop. Anyway, set-up was easy and the product works well with little to no lag.John

Don't Do This To Yourself
(NOTE: I should preface this review by saying I'm not in the tech business nor am I a techie, however I do have the technological skills of the average 20 year-old living in the 21st century. I won't wow the GeekSquad guys but I know enough to at least properly set up a router, especially with Google so readily available.) I recently purchased this to replace my old workhorse Cisco Linksys wireless router that had worked flawlessly since 2008 until a few months ago when it started to die, at that point I started looking at new routers that offered good performance (mainly for online gaming and streaming) for a reasonable price (preferably $100 or less), I came across this offering by Belkin which had good to great reviews (mainly because of the value) and decided to investigate more when the time came to replace the faithful little Linksys. Well, a couple of weeks ago the Linksys finally got to the point where I had to replace it so I did more digging about the N750, decided it was a great value at roughly $75 and hit "buy" on Amazon, a week later it arrived (SuperSaver shipping, ordered it Sunday and got it on Saturday) and it worked great out of the box, followed the instructions, used the setup wizard and everything went just as advertized... Or it did until two days later (Monday), I woke up and checked my email on my phone like I do every day except my connection just dropped halfway through, so I get up and check the router just to be sure it's the Roadrunner having issues (as it's prone to in my area) and the thing had the freaking orangish-red eyeball of doom (I found it unsettling, okay?) at which point I fiddled with it a little and got it working again, didn't have an issue again Monday or Tuesday so I figured it was just a hiccup and didn't think much about it again until late Wednesday when, you guessed it, eyeball of doom again. This time I did research into the issue and tried everything possible (without actually opening anything up) for 8 straight hours until I discovered that a great deal of these just don't work properly due to whatever Belkin's obviously doing wrong AND they've not actually even acknowledged the issue let alone say they're going to fix it. Needless to say I had it packed up and returning to Amazon by Friday using their great returns system and am instead going to try a TP-Link (ย TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router, 2.4GHz 450Mbps+5Ghz 1350Mbps, 2 USB Ports, IPv6, Guest Network ย ) as soon as I can order it. I will update the review with how it goes with that when I get it and set everything up.Pros:1) Works great when it actually works, loved the 5 Ghz band.2) Guest Network - Great when you have people over, you can just put the info up somewhere and let everyone log on themselves.3) Good Interface - Never had an issue and everything's clearly marked. Just remember it's "192.168.2.1" not ".1.1".4) Media Server and Wireless Printing - If you have use for these they're available.5) Lots of Bells and WhistlesCons:1) Highly unlikely to work long-term unless Belkin admits something is wrong and offers a fix.2) Sometimes the wireless signal was a bit weak and didn't always show up on my devices.3) Media Server is a bit slow and heard the wireless printing isn't always great.4) Orangish-Red EYE OF DOOM! (Seriously, you will learn to fear it. Not joking here.)UPDATE (4-19-2014):It's April 19th and I've had the Archer C7 for 19 days already and so far this router has not made me an April-Fool, after set-up (which did take a bit more fiddling than I would have cared for) it has worked nearly flawlessly. I did have one hiccup last night on the 5 Ghz band but I think that was on the streaming device actually. I will write a full review on or around May 1st and add a link to it here.

Great Wireless Router!!!
This has been working like a powerhouse for the last 3 years, without a break. Has a great range and no real issues to complain about. Other companies MIGHT have a more user friendly software, but it's hard to argue with it's stamina, since I keep reading where people feel like they are lucky if their routers last over a year. I cannot speak to that since this was my first wireless router. If this model broke down, even though there are much newer models, I wouldn't have a problem picking up this older one again, as it does everything even most high-end users would need from it.

First Impression
I set this up yesterday. It took about 15 minutes. I was prompted to reboot my laptop and then I received a popup advising a firmware update was needed for the router so I held off on the reboot. That update took a few minutes to install. The firmware update advised the router was rebooting. After several minutes the blue light on the router blinked and then stayed off. I manually rebooted the router and it came up fine, blue light on. I was then able to reconnect my laptop via WiFi.The main reason for this purchase was for our iPhone's. The range of the former router was limited and we'd lose WiFi in certain areas of the house. Now we have a strong signal where we didn't previously. So far so good.

Very capable wireless router that was easy to set up.
I am happy with this wireless router, it has great transmission range in my house, where my prior router could not reach. It also has very easy setup, and extra features I have yet to explore, such as directly hooking up a USB printer and making it wireless. The router unit has two USB connections, so I am also thinking of hooking up my backup hard drive to it, to make it wireless for both my PCs to use. For the price I paid, I am thrilled with this product.
