Field Shield. Full-Face Protection Mask Sporting goods

First off, I always buy my products for full price and never accept discounted products for reviews. My rating criteria is as follows. If the product works as is advertised and the quality is in line with the price then I give it five stars tentatively, then deduct stars for usability. I purchased this for my daughter in September 2016 (two months ago) for $23.77--looks like the price has gone up since then. At that cheaper price, it was far and away the best value on Amazon. At the current $33, I this is still a good value, but there are a lot of other choices to sift through. I think anyone would be happy if this is the one they chose. My daughter is about 5'5", so we bought the adult size--it fits fine. I give this five stars because it is high quality, comfortable and does the job, with no visible problems or bad workmanship. It fit perfectly, however (she plays catcher) it is easy to remove to catch a pop-fly. We see this providing value for a long time, but if something falls apart I'll update.

We didn't want to take any chances with our daughter's face being smashed with a ball or ruin the thousands of dollars in orthodontia work in her mouth. I like that this mask had more protection than the other name brand metal masks. I was very surprised how light it is, yet the plastic is very strong. It did take a some time to adjust the straps and get the proper fit. Once we figured it out it fits great. She is 9 years old and we purchased the small/medium size. She loves wearing it! She WANTED to wear it. The best part is that it fits perfectly fine with her regular glasses and it still fits with her rec specs. If you're looking for an inexpensive, high quality but very light face mask, this is the one you want. She has yet to be hit in the face with a ball so I'll update when that happens to report how well the mask took the hit.

I bought this in the youth size for my daughter who is 11 (5'2 105 pounds). It fits her great with room to grow. I tried it on just for fun and it fits me as well (5'5 - 150 pounds - female). I am really glad we didn't go with the adult size, it would have been way too big. She did have a chance to see it in action once, a ball bounced up and hit her mask (Would have been her face if not for this mask!) and it took the hit well. The mask did move a bit out of place (it was really easy for her to move it back into place), but I think it could be tightened a bit more, so that is why that happened (in other words, our fault). She said it is easy to see out of as well which is great and it feels comfortable to wear in the game and at practice with no itchy parts or parts that rub her face the wrong way. This is a great mask!

My daughter plays in an 8U softball league and even though these masks are not required (unless being pitcher's helper), but recommended. So, after a few games and seeing all of her other teammates having one, I caved and bought one. I did a bit of research and ended up buying this one. It is pretty sturdy and solid. My daughter says that it fits pretty good, but does not really like to wear it though. She claims that it is rubbing on her chin. Well, I am not wearing it, but I like the mask as far as looks go. I think it is just my kids preference to not wear any mask. I would recommend this one though and she will be wearing this one for the next few years.

Our 8-year-old daughter decided to play machine-pitch softball this Spring, and a friend suggested we purchase a fielding mask for her. This was our first experience with a child in softball, so we purchased the mask that was suggested. We were nervous that it would be uncomfortable and bother her - or that it would impede her view, but it did not! She loved it, and we felt much more comfortable with her wearing it. She can easily put it on and off herself in a hurry after batting and needing to run out onto the field quickly - both with a ponytail and without. She can adjust it how she feels most comfortable herself. Most of the players on her team wore this same one, and we suggested to the parents of girls NOT wearing one that they should get one. She wore this mask all season - and it is still in excellent / like new condition! She will wear it again next year. It really does make us feel more comfortable about her safety when she is wearing it. She is able to perform fully AND is much, much safer.

Fits comfortable on my daughter, does not slide off her face. Not much adjustment needed for it to fit perfectly on her face. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this item for my 11 year old after she got hit in the face with a softball and broke a tooth. The mask does its job-- it protects her face. However, even with all the adjustments it still leaves a dark red spot on her forehead after she wears it. Figuring for games she wears it up to two hours at a time (taking it off after every inning), I would like this item better if it had a better fit on the forehead. That being said, after we adjusted it and she got used to it, she says it's "pretty comfortable" and she wears it without too much complaint.

Tonight my 12 year old daughter got hit square in the face with a line drive. Not only do I think this masked it saved her life she finished the inning, struck out the next batter, and got the next batter out at first with another ball hit right at her. Face and mask we're not damaged and she was hit so hard it took her off her feet. Scary stuff. Great product. I truly think if she was wearing a metal mask she would have got really hurt. Thank you Sklz for a great safety product. So glad I bought this mask. This is the best decision I have made as a as a parent.
