Good unit, but it depends on your use.
Been using Cyberpower UPS units for years, they are extremely reliable and bought this one to use on a new computer. Under normal circumstances these units can handle a computer and even a small monitor without issue. But this new computer is a 14700k which is known to be power hungry and also a large graphics card. At times where the computer is running hard, it can overwhelm the UPS which sounds a tone when its wattage is surpassed. So bear in that in mind when buying. If you're running a newer desktop, particularly Intel, this may not be enough to handle it. That's on me, not the UPS. I did not mark it down based on that, just putting out the information based on my experience. Still, a good unit and Cyberpower is probably the best out there. For laptops and other applications it should be fine.

Good Basic UPS
This is perfect for my needs. It has enough battery backup time for me to save my work and shut down my computer if there's a power outage, and it bridges the gap nicely when the power just blinks off and on. You can connect it to your computer with a USB cable and monitor your UPS or change settings using the free software. All in all a good value.

UPS
My main use of this product is for simply, Battery backup so that I can resume my work without interruption of a power outage (even though I have a laptop, but my newly built desktop is on standby) It had a weird smell once I opened the box but its not bad, that means it was freshly packed (In my opinion). The software was great, just what I wanted. All I have plugged in is my Cisco router, and my almost completed desktop. I have lots of room in the built in outlets for future expansion of my workstation. Highly recommend this product for people with computers or if you just want general protection for your TV, Video game, etc.. This is my first time with this company. NOTE: You must charge your battery for 8 hours before use, you can use it while its charging but I wouldn't recommend it. But that,s your call. Shipping was very good (even though it was raining and whoever placed the package into a plastic bag didn't tie it properly.. but it is in working condition and it didn't get soaked.) Update: 8/18/13 I went away for vacation for a week and when I came back, My computer wont turn on, I checked and noticed the ups was off and I left the ups running for a whole week when I was gone. I tried turning it back on and it wont. I called Cyber-power tech support and followed the steps he told me. I pressed and held the power button for 5 seconds as he requested and it still did not turn on. So he sent me a email and I have to provide the information and the invoice for the return shipping label free of charge and when they received it, they will send me a new one at no cost. 5/5 tech support right there. So now I have to use my laptop in the mean time while I wait. But I'm still wondering how and why my ups was off and why it didn't turn back on. Update 9/10/13 After all the wait, I emailed cyberpower and they said that they were doing their biannual inventory check and all orders in and out were frozen. I didn't mind but Id wish they would have sent me a email letting me know. But hey the replacement came and I received 2 cyberpower units, which ill keep the extra one as a spare. I'm loving the replacement so far and no Issues has arisen ever since. Thank you Cyberpower! Looking forward to doing business with you in the future.

Works great, and I often forget it's there (which means I end up kicking it absent-mindedly)
Works as expected, and while you can make an argument that these non-online or smaller units don't provide solidly clean power from the battery (instead of the regular electricity that comes into your home or apartment that is spikey and 'dirty', which can damage computer components just from regular use), I've had my newer PC on every day for a year and a half, and the other PC I built 6 years ago on every single day all day as well (hosting media, can't really turn it off... or I'd have to get up on turn it on, heaven forbid...), and I have never had any electrical issues. I have every entertainment item in my house plugged into one of these as well, and my 5 year old Samsung LCD TV hasn't had any problems either, and it's always on just because (especially since I bought the Roku 3). I will always have 3 or more of these in my house, and the CyberPower CP550SLG and any of the future models in this category are shaping up to be a regular purchase.

Well made!
I used and abused this UPS for a very very long time. Well made, good value.

Easy to install. Constant power backup.
I bought this unit for my computer and mainly my router. With everything streaming including security cameras power outages even slight ones meant I had to reset TV's Camera's and Echo's. The unit says it will last 83 minutes with the wattage I have connected. That is plenty of time for recovery. My first test came last night when the electricity flickered on and off which effects the router and all streaming devices. With the UPS all my equipment reconnected with no problem.

Wrecked my equipment more than a regular powerstrip, customer service was terrible.
Recently I bought this to protect my new rig I bought. I usually just use a regular power strip, but I was afraid of blowing up my new fancy computer. One day I was in my house, doing my regular thing when the power went out. It started doing the loud beeping thing (which by the way, it didn't even keep my computer on like it was supposed to, for even a second) and then I just kinda sat there. I smelt burning, and I was really scared. When the power came back, my computer turned on fine, monitors alright. I was relieved. But instead, it turns out it blew something in my subwoofer because now it didn't work at all (after extensive testing, it is definitely the subwoofer, not anything else, audio jacks, etc.) It wasn't even a lightning storm, or anything. I've had power outages all the time. So I got kind of angry that it just kind of decided to blow up the circuits in my sub for basically no reason. I set up a warranty thing with Cyberpower. I sent them an e-mail and they decided to tell me to just call them soon. I did all of this within the required 10 day period. I called them, asking about my warranty. The woman on the phone just says "what? WHAT?!!?" as if she were losing service, but she was really angry. I called back after she hung up within 5 seconds of me calling her. It went straight to voicemail after a ring or two. I called her one more time, instead from a different place thinking it was service issues (which I don't usually have, but considered her location) and once again, straight to voicemail. No followup from them, nothing. Now I have to use a separate powerstrip AND this UPS, because for some reason the battery on the UPS (that didn't even support my computer) is already near dead, and I can't plug in more than a few things into it. It has shut off my computer due to excessive power usage more than 3 times, which is more than the amount of times it's saved me from a power outage (0 times). I just ended up getting new speakers from a friend because after being shunned that day, it was beyond the 10-day period, AND I just wasn't having it. Next time I'm going to try to buy from a better company. Considering recently I purchased a router from a company (MediaBridge to be specific), e-mailed them with a question about the router messing up rarely, and they sent me a BRAND NEW ONE NO QUESTIONS ASKED, I can see the difference in customer service that CyberPower was really lacking. I saw warnings on the internet, and as a poor college student I should have taken that into more account.

Excellent
It arrived on time and in good working order. I plugged it in and waited 8 hours to fully charge the battery. Then I plugged everything I wanted to power with it. When I unplugged it everything I wanted to use the UPS for worked fine and when I downloaded the program to monitor the UPS with my computer it was easy to download and install.

Buen producto

Works perfectly and a good price.
I bought this to replace my original which failed after 16 years of use. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and provides backup power to computer equipment, etc.

Too early to tell how good it works
Just bought two of these due to their higher ratings and while they seem well made and were easy to set up, it's too early to tell how well they work. One thing I don't like so far is the stupid beep it makes when power goes out. Like I really need that going off in the middle of the night. I don't need to be told, that's why I bought this thing to begin with. The power goes out and my security system and computer are protected. Why do I need to be awakened to be told that?
