Oki 62411901 MICROLINE 390 Turbo Dot Matrix Printer

Works perfectly from day one...

My older Okidata had tractor pins on the platen and when the head went past the pins, it caught on the ribbon and messed it up. I bought this one to stop that. I have another 390 hooked up to print only checks and it has worked flawlessly for years. This newest 390 has the same ribbon catching problem, just not as often even though it does not have the tractor pins to catch the ribbon. It is printing thin two ply rear fed continuous paper while the check printer has 2 ply heavy paper. Why does one catch the ribbon and the other does not? Played with the head gap, not change.

Best impact printer period.

Good forms printer for small to medium size jobs. We use 'utility' quality instead of letter quality for faster speed. Can hardly tell the difference, though. Also ordered top forms tractor to pull forms through, but rear feed tractor works superbly. This Oki replaces an old Oki 320 that ran flawlessly for nearly twenty years. Great quality printers.

If you still need to put out pin fed continuous forms this will be a good choice. Not a high speed / high volume printer but works great where forms won't go through a laser printer.Rick
