As a mom, I can't recommend the Melissa & Doug Vehicles 4-in-1 Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles enough! With 48 sturdy pieces, these puzzles have quickly become a favorite in our house. The variety of vehicles keeps my little ones engaged and excited to piece them together, and I love that they come in a neat storage box, making clean-up a breeze. The quality is outstanding—each piece is made from durable wood and fits together perfectly. I appreciate that the puzzles are designed to be both fun and educational, helping my kids develop their problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination. Plus, the colorful illustrations capture their attention and spark their imaginations. Overall, this product has exceeded my expectations. It’s a fantastic value for the price, and I feel good knowing I’m giving my kids a toy that encourages learning through play. I bought this and the dinosaur set for my 28 month old who loves puzzles both electronic (ipad/kindle) and real ones. Since these don't have an outline or some guidance they are difficult for him and I have to start them for him and he then fills in. Once he is older I think he will love them because he loves trucks and trains and really any wheeled item. They come in a nice little box and you can put the puzzle together on the lid that has a rim that is slightly bigger than the puzzle themselves, which is a nice flat setting for it and contained so it doesn't move around much. The box itself has 4 separate spaces in it so you can store each puzzle together, and the box is smaller than you'd expect as about 7x5x2.5 inches. You do have to stack/arrange the pieces pretty neatly because each space is very limited and if you don't arrange it nicely, the puzzle won't fit. It would be better if the box was a littler bit deeper (not longer/wider or you'd lose the nice size top for putting it together), like 1/4'' or so to accommodate a little imperfection with storing because arranging and stacking each puzzle takes time and I like quick and easy clean-up. I put each puzzle in a little sandwhich bag to keep it separate for my little guy becasue when my puzzle came the pieces where all mixed up together so there might be some room between the inside dividers and the lid which allows for them to move into each others storage place. The other nice thing is on the back of each puzzle piece is a shape, each different puzzle has the same shape, like the truck would have a triangle, the train has a little circle; this would allow for a kid to be able to easily identify which pieces go together for each puzzle. These are made out of a light weight wood, maybe balsa wood. Reminds me of those "Golden" puzzles that where the size of a sheet of paper but a thick cardboard, when I was a kid. They are lightweight and not indestructible. if your kid chews it, it will show signs of that and get damaged - so watch them and do the puzzle with them if they are so little they still mouth things sometimes. I don't think they would be able to bend these though, they are tough enough for that but wet mouths and strong teeth could damage. I think my son will grow to love these even more as he gets older and can understand the concept of putting it together without guides and being able to match them by looking at the back of the pieces to know all circles go together and so on. I think these will be around a while and maybe even make it to one of those toys you keep for your grandkids, like my husband's mom did for some of his golden puzzles which are my son's favorite..ah the good old days!

The puzzles are smaller than I expected, but just right for my 3 year old grandson. The puzzle pieces are wooden and come in a wooden box with a slide lid. All of the pieces for the 4 puzzles are in the box, each with its own section to keep them somewhat separated. On the back of the puzzle pieces is a stamped shape that identifies which pieces belong to which puzzle in case they get mixed up. There isn't a picture of the completed puzzle for the little ones to follow when putting it together except for the ones on the cellophane wrapper so you may want to keep it. I helped my grandson put it together the first time and he quickly caught on to what the vehicle was supposed to be after that. Very satisfied with the product's colors, construction, and storage unit. I love Melissa and Doug toys. We were putting the puzzles together 2 days before Christmas and one puzzle was missing a piece. I contacted Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement to us, allowing us 30 days to return the one that we had. With it being so close to Christmas I really didn't expect the replacement to get to my house in time for gift giving. I was pleasantly surprised to have the replacement the very next day and my little one was able to open it on Christmas day. Thank you to everyone involved in this replacement that made a little boy very happy Christmas morning.

My son is 4 and he's getting really into jigsaw puzzles (the step up from the puzzles with a picture underneath or a shape cutout). We have probably 8 Melissa and Doug puzzles, and while we like some better than others, they're all very well made and fun. This set of 4 is no exception! Here's what's great about it: - Quailty. That's something I've come to rely on with Melisa and Doug and they don't disappoint with this one. I would say it's a small step down in terms of quality from some of their others, but really, for the price you pay, what you get is really great! The wood box is well made, the pieces are not flimsy and the pictures don't peel up at the corners of the pieces like many puzzles. - FOUR PUZZLES in ONE SMALL BOX! My boy is obsessed with vehicles (particularly trains) so this was perfect. This set has a train, a fire truck, a school bus and a race car. Little boy heaven. - Easy enough and with few enough pieces that my 4 year old (who also happens to be autistic and gets easily frustrated and gives up when things are too hard) can do these with little help. - Probably my favorite part about this puzzle is something I was stressing about from the moment I saw it. I was envisioning my boy dumping ALL the pieces out at once and me having a horrible time trying to sort which piece goes with which picture and in which compartment. Fortunately the clever people at Melissa and Doug thought of that and put a different red shape on the back of every single puzzle piece so you can easily figure out which go together based which have a circle, which have a square etc. That actually makes for fun clean up because it involves sorting! Nice work M&D! - The lid also serves as a removable puzzle building frame with plenty of room to work. While these puzzles can easily be assembled without the backing (as long as you're doing it on a hard surface like the table or wood floor), it's nice to have that feature. - Portability! There are very few activities that our son enjoys that don't involve noise. The few toys we have that can keep him occupied for a while are precious and even fewer of them are portable. This is a very small box and is something that would easily fit in a backpack or diaper bag as long as the diaper bag isn't overly full. I have one word: church. We take this to church and let the boy go to town at our feet with these puzzles in front of the pew. People can judge away, but the fact that we're even there each week with an autistic 4 year old is a miracle and takes some serious dedication, haha! All in all I think these are darling little puzzles, perfect for a 4 year old (or 2 or 3 year old depending on how much of a puzzle prodigy they are)! For my 4 year old nephew for Christmas, he loves messing w my puzzles so I got him his own. Quality seems good so far I’m not gonna open it till he does but I’m assuming all the pieces are there, comes with a box to do the puzzle on top of and to storage the pieces. There are 4 - 12 piece puzzles seems easy and fun

Super cute set of 4 puzzles. These are the perfect size for a 2-3 year old. I attached a photo with my 3 year olds hands in it to show size. They’re a little smaller than I thought they’d be but he enjoys doing them with just a little help from me. Each puzzle has a shape on the back so you can keep track of them. Nice wooden quality with a little box to keep them in. Would recommend!

I rate toys using a 3 category system. I look at their entertainment value, durability, and creativity. Every toy needs to keep a child's attention, be able to stand up to their rough playing, and either promote their creativity or be used to play in creative ways. I'll start with a short review and then explain my reasons for the rating in detail. The wooden box and pieces are very durable, although they are small and easy to lose if you don't keep track of them. The difficulty level of the puzzles are minimal but its still fun for young children because the pictures are cute. With that being said, this puzzle set will be a mom's FAVORITE because of its ease of storage and the ease of sorting the pieces. ENTERTAINMENT: My daughter is 3 years old and loves puzzles. She can do them for hours and never get bored. When I bought this, entertainment was never in question. She did figure them out very quickly, but she can put together 48 piece puzzles by herself, and needs very little help with 100 piece puzzles, so I didn't expect that these would be difficult for her, but she still loves to put them together none the less. DURABILITY: These are wooden puzzles in a wooden box. You can't bend them or destroy them. The picture on the top is secured well and doesn't peel. The box itself is very well made and the sliding top is easy for both my daughter and my 2 year old son to open and close. The only con is how small it is. The pieces are little and its easy for them to slide under the bed or toy box. I have to count the pieces when we put them away to ensure that one has not gone missing. A puzzle missing a piece is not all that fun. CREATIVITY: This is where the giant positive comes in. Puzzles promote hand eye coordination, problem solving, and creativity no matter what they are made of or what the picture is. That's not the reason why I love these puzzles so much, though. Melissa & Doug get a HUGE round of applause for their creativity on this one because of how they made these puzzles. The Box is where I start clapping for Melissa & Doug. The lid of the box has a lip on it so you can put the puzzle together on the top of it without the pieces sliding off like it would on the coffee table. Its also pretty thick so the pieces separate when you put a new one in its place like it would on carpet. That's pretty awesome. Also, when you open the box, its divided into 4 sections so you can separate the puzzle pieces into their own little sections when you go to put them away. Here's where I shoot up out of my seat for standing ovation. Each puzzle has a red shape stamp assigned to it; a circle, triangle, diamond, or square. Every piece of each puzzle has a stamp on the back of it to identify which puzzle it goes to. So even when the pieces are scattered all around the room, my kids can easily identify which puzzle it goes to and put them away ON THEIR OWN. That's right, a 2 year old and 3 year old can clean up their own mess. BRAVO! BRAVO! ENCORE! ENCORE! So in conclusion, I love this puzzle!

My grandson loves his puzzles, had me on the floor with him to see what he could do. Perfect for 3 to 4 yrs of age

Purchased this for my young one when he was close to 2. A very well built woodlen puzzle with nice finishing, colors which dont fade away or chip off like normal wooden toys and pieces which really fit well. My young one has placed with this numerous times and he still loves to play with it after almost a year. Though little expensive as compared to puzzles available in India, I highly recommend this toy for anyone wishing to gift their kid quality puzzle time.

It's a nice set. The kids love it - I also love the illustrations and the storage box, but the jigsaw pieces easily separate from each other which creates huge frustrations from the little ones! Also, there are four jigsaw puzzles per box and although there are small shapes (e.g. circle, square, triangle, etc) drawn on the back of each piece, to know which piece belongs to which jigsaw, it would have been better if the back of each jigsaw were a different colour; it'd be easier for the little ones to sort them out.
