OXO Good Grips Turkey Baster, Red

This baster is absolutely what I have been looking for. I love OXO products. I have so many of their products. This baster is perfect for so many different uses for me. I make ice cube from coffee for my summer iced coffee. This baster saves me from making a mess while filling ice trays with cooled coffee. The baster is easy to take apart and clean. It is very sturdy and well made. I love all OXO products and highly recommend this baster and any other products by OXO.

I actually bought this to siphon grease out of the frying pan, when I'm cooking high fat meats, like hamburger and bacon. It works like a charm and it cleans beautifully. I use it often. I've thrown it into the dishwasher - no fuss no muss. Such a great kitchen tool!

I got this to feed my coral in my aquarium. I liked it because the top comes off and you can easily clean it with the included brush. But it is totally a waste of money. The top is very loose and easily comes off. And because of that, the tube holds no suction so the fluid you suck up into the tube just dribbles out. I finally put some Teflon tape around the threads at the top and that kind of helped seal it up more so at lest the liquid does not dribble out. I am going to try using it a few more times and send it back at this point because I could do a better job of handling the liquid this things was intended for with my fingers!! Very poor quality and I would strongly recommend you look for something else!

I actually ordered this baster to use on my fish tank, so I use it a lot more than someone would normally use a baster. You're supposed to suck any uneaten food out of your fish tank, so I use it a few times a week. It works very well. My only complaint is that the black bulb (suction part) isn't removable, but it does come with a brush so that you can clean inside the bulb. So I guess they made up for that with the brush. In order to clean in the bulb, you have to suction water into it, turn it upside down, and then squirt the water out...so it's kind of tedious. But it works well and has good suction, so I guess it's a trade off...

Using it on my aquarium to clean. Works great! The reviews that state that it falls apart are using it wrong. You operate it like a syringe, not by squeezing the sides. One thing, it won't hold water without leaking - a design flaw with the non-sealed top bulb because air gets in and causes it to leak. Not an issue for my use though.

I can't say this works a good as the classic design. The bulb has too many parts (two to be exact) but it inhibits easy cleanup. The bulb is also difficult to put back on. I wish I replaced mine with the same classic design which is a snap to clean.

Works fine for me. I use it in my aquarium to suck up small debris. Very handy. Well built and love that it comes with a brush to clean it.

I'm disappointed in this product. I typically love OXO products as they are well designed and very easy to use. This baster however is really finicky when it comes to forming a good seal to get suction. You have to twist the bulb on just right or you won't be able to suck up liquid. I took it completely apart, cleaned it really well, reassembled it and still had issues getting it to work properly. If you slide the rubber bulb a little bit past the indentations where it is supposed to sit I can get it to work alright, but the rubber bulb tends to slip back into place easily. Maybe I got a dud.

So many basters sort of work for a while. This one worked perfectly immediatly. Hope it remains as efficient. Really impressed that it comes with it's own brush cleaner.
