We live in Arizona and use these every day.
I give it four stars because it is good and probably today the best out there, but...it still has room for improvement.Being transplants from the Pacific Northwest to Arizona, my whole family uses their water bottles every day and we've gone through a few. We've pretty much settled on Camelbak and we've gone through a few of those. In fact, I'm on my third or fourth of this insulated "eddy" model and I think my wife is on her fourth, too. So, here's the skinny: While we haven't found anything better, these do wear out. Not the shell so much, but the mouthpiece (which is replaceable and if that was it, I couldn't complain, but...) and the mechanism in the lid that holds the mouthpiece down (which is not replaceable). After a few months usage (and we use them a lot--consuming many bottles full every day) the mouthpiece won't stay down any longer. At that point I just end up buying another CamelBak eddy water bottle. Well, actually, I wait until I can't stand it any longer, which is a point I reach after the mouthpiece won't stay down AND water keeps rising up the internal straw and pushes/leaks out of the top. Now, it may be that if I bought a new mouthpiece, that would solve the leakage problem, though I don't know for sure, because I just want the whole thing to work like new and I now the mouthpiece would still pop up even with a new one.Bored yet?Okay, here's why I believe the water pushes up out of the mouthpiece once it has worn down a bit: If you have ice and water in the bottle, but drink it down to about half full, the top half is full of cool air. As the ice melts, the temperature of the water rises, causing the temperature of the air to rise, which causes the air to expand. That expanding air pushes water up the straw. When the mouth piece is new, it has a tight enough seal to hold back the water, but when the slit in the top of the mouthpiece widens and the seal doesn't hold as well, the pressure is enough to force the water up and through. So, why is this a problem? The water then runs down the mouthpiece and collects just below it. When you take a drink, all that extra water pours out onto your face and/or shirt. So, if they can figure out how to fix these small issues so I don't have to buy one every few months, I'd give it a five star rating. Now, if you don't need to use it everyday like I do, it may last you a good deal longer (maybe years for all I know) and perhaps you won't run into this problem. So, don't let me dissuade you from getting one, as overall it's still the best I've found.

Good but with a few flaws
This is only my second camelbak product, but my first water bottle from them. The bottle keeps water with ice cold for a few hours if not in direct sunlight, and that is something that I need when at work for a few hours without a break. The bite valve is probably one of my favorite things as it helps to keep it leak proof until you are ready to drink. The straw goes all the way down to the bottom of the cup which allows you to drink all of the liquid that you have in the bottle. There are 2 flaws that I have noticed in my time with this bottle and only 1 of them is pretty major. The first but small is that if you leave this in your car with liquid in it, the water finds its way up and out of the straw. Ive had many a days where I return to my car and have a cup holder full of water. The major issue though is that the inside of the nozzle (right between the bite valve and straw) likes to be a growing place for bacteria. I've had on several occasions a black substance begin to grow even with regular cleaning. The only way I can remove it is to use a Q-tip.Overall this is one of my better water bottles. It keeps water cold for a good amount of time and can fit in the larger cup holder in my car. Aside from needing to give it a bit more of a thorough wash, I am glad I made the purchase.

Sturdy and condensation-free!
I've been using my Camelbak for over three months and I have experienced no problems with it. Before I bought this one, I had two previous Camelbaks water bottles, but never an insulated one. The insulation is a feature I love. I thought I would be annoyed that the bottle is bulkier without even holding more water, but the fact that it never drips with condensation is wonderful. I can keep it in my purse or backpack without getting everything wet! Furthermore, I can leave it in my hot car for a couple of hours and when I come back to it the water is still cool! Although any water sitting in the straw is boiling hot, but I just pinch the bite valve and dump it out on the street and then I have cool water to drink while I'm waiting for my car to cool down. Woohoo!I also think that maybe the double layer makes the bottle more durable. I'll admit, I drop my bottles often. I'm not gentle with them. In the past, this abuse has really worn down my Camelbaks, eventually requiring me to replace them altogether as the mouth pieces snap off. This hasn't happened yet with my insulated Camelbak. Another thing that's happened with my previous ones is the mildew in the bite valve that others have written about in their reviews. However, I haven't yet noticed this happening in my insulated Camelbak. I don't know why there would be a difference there, it seems to be the same technology, and yet I haven't had a problem. (And I probably don't run it through the dishwasher nearly as often as I should too...)Overall great product. Still watching it carefully to see how it handles wear and tear. But I certainly won't be switching back to the original Camelbak water bottle, as the insulation feature on this one is just too handy.

It's good, buy it.
It's nice it, and it never leaks. I find it encourages me to drink more as I take it to work and then keep it on my desk to remind me.I wasn't convinced about the bite-valve thing at first but you can squeeze it with your thumb and index finger if you want, and then just suck. It can be a bit tricky to clean the valve as it does get a bit skanky after a while, you have to remember to clean it!!The insulation is good as it means the outside doesn't condense up if you put a cold drink in it. The downside is the overall size is bigger compared to the amount it holds.

Simply superb - yes worth the money
Lots of reviews for eddy but not is one, purchased this after thi king for ages is it worth the money extra for insulated, well yes it is.It does actually work, I brimmed it with ice cubes, then topped up with ice water and NO moisture on outside, also did the same filling ice water then leaving in hot car- yes it keeps it nice and cold.Camelbaks normall bite system is beyond fantastic, NO leaks and you don't have to worry about leaving in a bag and coming back to water everywhere - made better by no moisture.Colour of the bottle is VERY VERY smart, no Eros people comment that it looks very classy and elegant and doesnt stand out or look tacky even if taken work or play - no not an advert for mars bars. Now, the only downside I can fix is it struggles to fit in most car cup holders, doesn't like ford. Vauxhall etc, but if your lucky to have a car with a centre bin (like toyotas) it will just fit.If in doubt JUSTBUY ITNow the only downsize and

So far, so good!
I can't write much about it's durability or longevity as it has only just arrived. However, my first impressions are that the bottle is very well made and looks really good. The clear outside and smoked inside almost take on a 'mirror' look when it's filled with water! After giving it a wash through (as instructed) I filled it with chilled water. The bottle has been on my desk in a warm office for the past few hours and the water is still refreshingly cool. The bite system works well to seal the liquid in and allows you to flip the spout out using one hand and sip quite easily. I think that if you agitate the bottle quite vigorously you might see some leakage but in most situations it seems quite secure.I have noticed that replacement bite valves and the accompanying tubes can be quite expensive so bear that in mind when deciding upon whether to buy this type of bottle. A quick search on Amazon will give you a guide as to the costs. For example: Camelbak 2 x Bottle Bite Valves Clear and 2 Straws On the positive side, CamelBak offer a lifetime warranty on workmanship so anything outside wear and tear or misuse should be covered. I hope I don't have to invoke the warranty, though! It's not a cheap option and I know there's something to be gained by simply reusing the bottles that you buy your drinks in - but I was specifically looking for something that would also keep my drink cool. I think this will do the job admirably and will update this review when I have had more use from the bottle.****UPDATED TO ADD*****Having used this for a few days I can say that the insulation is better than an ordinary plastic bottle - but only just. It'll keep the drink cold for about 30~60 minutes depending upon the ambient temperature. I've filled it with very cold water from the 'fridge and found that it's just about still cool after little over an hour. I was hoping for slightly better results but I guess the only was to guarantee better insulation is to get a specialised vacuum flask or mug.The best way to make sure your drink stays cold for longer than an hour is to leave this bottle in the fridge, another illustration that the 'insulation' isn't really all that good. Exactly what I expected
Ideal for my needs and no horrible smell as some bottles tend to give you. I actually use it in an office environment and it's great as it keeps the water cold and more importantly for me does not spill if it should get knocked over.
