This camera exceeded my expectation. I didn't taste tech support because I didn't have to use tech support.

I purchased two of these to replace worn security cameras at my business. The cameras come in a "Inactive" mode and must be activated with Trendnet's software before installing. I downloaded the camera utility and the Trendnet EVO view. With a lot of struggle, I was able to get one camera to work, but not the other. Even though I activated and setup the password in their software, their own software says that the username and password is incorrect. There does not seem o be a solution to this problem. The reset password link is broke and just says "password reset failed." I have called the free 24/7 technical support (866-845-3673) and 9 times tonight and each time the line is disconnected as soon as I answers. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!

Great camera for the price. My only complaint, lacking knowledgeable support.

Easily to set up

Followed instructions to install their utility software but it would give an error on launch. Was able to still get the camera running but tried to get it to work with Sighthound and can only pull up the substream which is much lower resolution than the mainstream. Trendnet tech support does not answer my support ticket and several days later it doesn't show up when I log in to their site. Called their tech support number twice and no answer. Submitted another ticket and got sent a manual that didn't directly address my question but after hours of experimenting I was able to finally get it to work.

The software is horrendous to use. Camera utilities worked at first, but would not reinstall when restarting the camera. All other software did not work. The camera was thrown unto the porch by the delivery man. Not sure if this had an impact. Will not spend anymore time on this. Decided to return it.

Leider musste ich Kamera retour senden. Bildqualität Top, WebMenü mangelhaft. Wichtigste Funktion für mich wäre gewesen dass die Kamera direkt auf ein NAS Share schreibt. Das Einrichten ist schon recht kompliziert und dann bricht die Kamera nach 1ner Minute aufzeichnen einfach ab. Man muss dann das NAS Share wieder neu "formatieren" - so lautet der Menüpunkt in der Kamera - dann geht's wieder für 1ne Minute. Das ist also kein Dauerzustand um die Kamera so zu betreiben.

Das Bild der Kamera ist hervorragend. Vielleicht ist es kein Musterbeispiel für perfekte Farbwiedergabe, aber hinsichtlich Schärfe und Konturen ist es nicht zu beanstanden. Auch die Nachtsicht ist beeindruckend. Letztere lässt sich sogar noch deutlich durch die eingebaute IR Beleuchtung steigern. Diese ist zwar elegant durch schwarzen Kunststoff abgedeckt, leuchtet aber des nachts trotzdem auffällig rot.Mit der Bildqualität und der stabilen Bauform wäre die Kamera eine echte Kaufempfehlung, wäre da nicht die Firmware. Die Buchstaben sind für die Tabellenfelder zu groß, Aufnahmen auf SAMBA Netzwerkspeichern funktionieren gar nicht, Snapshots ablegen geht auch nicht. Wer sich nicht zufällig im Besitz eines Netzwerkspeichers wähnt, der mit einer komfortablen Management-Software daherkommt, kann mit der Kamera nicht wirklich etwas anfangen. Und das ist sehr schade. Dabei kann ich mich des Eindrucks nicht erwehren, dass dies nicht allein Unvermögen ist. Der Bereich der Speichereinstellung ist der am schlechtesten umgesetzte, der den Benutzer bisweilen sogar mit kyrillischen Hilfstexten unterstützt.

I ordered 2 of these 8MP PoE security dome cameras.1 was the correct 8MP camera but the other was the 5MP version.I called Amazon and they shipped me a new 8MP version and I mailed back the 5MP camera.As for the quality, the video looks great and it works well with BlueIris.The only issue that I had was that I wasn't able to get these cameras to work with any other camera software other than BlueIris, so I decided to go with BlueIris.

The camera has a tendency to drop signal, when hardwired, image goes green and blank. Camera is fairly easy to install and in case you need to know is compatible with Blue Iris security System.Overall camera is ok, for the price it could be better, would be better if it had audio. And didn't keep dropping signal.
