You *will* get compliments on its color ...
As the other reviewers mentioned these shoes stand out in a nice way. All my coworkers and strangers would compliment on how cool they look. It's super edgy in a superhero sense and really stylish.I generally wear around 10.5 or 11 and I'm glad I got it in the latter. It can get pretty snug and damn is it awesome for running! :)The materials used in making this shoe feels really well done, I can definitely feel the love put into making it, really nice craftsmanship. Colors stay very vibrant. My only icky feeling about it is how much branding is one it, I swear, there's either an "N" or "new balance" on 3 sides of the shoes--but that can be fixed by wearing jeans to cover most of it haha.

574 a different look with this green
The new balance 574 is an awesome shoe. What is different about his particular color and style is that is is totally made of a sleek canvas material. Not a thin canvas like converse all stars, but a thick sleeker padded canvas. It repels moisture and dirt fairly well for being made of this material.Pros:Great lookingLow price (as far as men's fashion shoes go)Very comfortableLasts a long time - constructed wellCons:None I can think of, if you are looking for a ton of arch support this is probably not your shoe. Probably not for extreme excercise.

fresh-looking classic, good casual preppy shoes
I've had these shoes for a few months now. They're definitely fashion sneakers, not running or exercise shoes, so I generally just wear them around the house and hanging out with friends. The nylon is even more durable than I expected - I've beaten up pretty hard on these shoes and the black parts still look nearly new. I do think the soles are starting to break down already, which I find a little disappointing given how long I hope to wear these shoes, but I am overall quite satisfied. I don't expect more than a year or two (at most) so of regular wear, but I expect they'll be comfortable and classic-looking for as long as I have them.

Great Shoe - Fits like other New Balance
This is a really comfortable and cool-looking shoe. The gray is a little darker in person than it appears in the pictures. Mine shipped from the UK to the USA in only a couple of days. I read several reviews that indicated the shoe fits smaller than expected. To me it fits just like all New Balances which tend to be a little small. I wear an 11 in other New Balances and this one fit the same. That is about 1/2 a size larger than I wear in regular shoes.

Time honored shoe consistently exceeds expectations
The New Balance 574 is the greatest shoe I have ever worn. I've been wearing these babies for years since the build has remained consistent for a long time. They are extremely comfortable and supportive. They handle a lot of miles before wearing out. They are great for any causal occasion. New Balance releases a few new styles every year with different materials and colors, so you can always find a pair that suits your fancy. I've probably had more than ten pairs and never been let down by a single one.

Modest looks, mediocre shoe
For years I've been trying to find a suitable replacement for my new balance 676s- I started with the NB minimus life casual/walking shoes last year. The soles were ground down to nothing in some spots in under a year of use, so I needed some new shoes- enter the 574s.I'm no stickler for fashion, so I keep things pretty plain and neutral. This shoe met those specs awesomely. It doesn't feel like there is a lot of support- these shoes don't seem like they're intended for walking any sort of extended distance. My first day with them I went and walked a couple miles to get a feel for them and I never got comfortable. About a month of use later I took them to a 3 day music festival which required frequent walking between venues, and my feet felt exhausted at the end of the day. However, for light to moderate use, these things are fine and I'll stick with my running shoes for doing anything extended.

Epic
These are some pretty rad shoes. If you want to look boring and dull while going for a walk in the woods, or you are afraid of a little color on your feet - these shoes are not for you.Featured in Outside Magazine as a shoe for dudes who want gear that look as good as they function... these do that. They run a tiny bit small, but break in after a week of wear and become incredibly comfortable.

New Balance came to my house in the night.
I'm pretty sure new Balance came to my house while I was sleeping and took exact measurements of my feet and sculpted these shoes just for me. They fit like a glove. What I love about these is that they are relatively flat on the bottom like all my skate shoes I've worn for years but hidden inside the shoe is tons of heel support and a nice cup sole that really hugs my back of my feet. I bought these for retail work and I've spent about six hours in these guys standing and the insoles that come with this are okay for light jogging and walking around but I need more gel support so I will be swapping them for Dr Scholls. But all in all excellent shoe. Go to a local retailer and try on a pair before you buy to get the right size.
