It's a little less on the fancy side, but it was perfect for her. My mom is a size medium-large normally, and about 5'3" tall. She wore heels, but even without the heels the length was perfect.

I'm very happy with this dress. It is simple and elegant. I've received numerous compliments, the fit is great and it didn't wrinkle when it was packed in a bag. I am on the shorter side so it was a bit long but with a standard pair of heels or my wedges it fit perfect.

I purchased this dress for my daughter's outdoor wedding. I usually wear a size 12, and ordered an x-lg in burgundy. It fits perfectly. Its very comfortable, and not heavy. It is also very flattering. The waist line falls excatly where you would want it to, hiding any extra tummy you may have.
