Great fit, nice material, not a button down
This Heekpek men’s shirt arrives folded with tissue paper and secured with three plastic clips in a presentation box. I would describe this packaging as traditional, however the clear plastic lid looks cheap. Perhaps a card lid would look more premium. Also, even though obvious care has been taken with the packaging, the shirt came out of the box very creased. The light blue shirt, made from a mix of 79 percent polyester, 18 percent cotton and 3 percent spandex, is of medium thickness and has the slight stiffness that most new shirts have. I quite like that it is lightweight, but not too lightweight. The collar is described as button down, but it is not. The stitching on the shirt is varied, a couple of buttonholes look a little messy, and the all important breast pocket has stitching that is not very neat, with some of the folded fabric showing. Fit wise, I like my clothing loose but not baggy. I normally wear an XL. This shirt, even though I have put on a few kilos, fits very well. If I lost the excess, it would fit perfectly. The length is great for a casual look, but tucking it in would mean constantly having to re‑tuck it. You are provided with a spare button, and the washing instructions are to machine wash with a laundry bag or hand wash in cold water, do not bleach, do not tumble dry.

Mens Shirt
I acquired this Heekpek men’s short sleeve Oxford shirt in Black (XXL), and it is a solid choice for a smart-casual summer look. The button-down collar keeps the shirt looking crisp and structured, making it versatile enough to transition from a day at the office to a casual evening out. The fabric has that classic Oxford texture—durable yet breathable enough for warmer weather. In the XXL size, the fit is generous and comfortable through the chest and shoulders without feeling overly baggy. The black color is deep and saturated, and it holds its color well after a few cycles in the wash. It’s a reliable, easy-to-iron staple that pairs perfectly with chinos or denim.

It’s not all white. . .
Although it’s a little cold to be thinking about short sleeved shirts, there’s nothing like planning ahead. My husband’s gained a few pounds since last summer, so I ordered the XL size in White which was his preference. It arrives neatly boxed so immediately gives the impression of a quality product and on first examination it looked it too. Except that it’s a very dull, greyish white and really looked quite grubby. When I showed it to my husband, that was the first thing he noticed ‘That’s not white!’. At last we agreed on something. So, I popped it into the washing machine on a cool 30° and added my favourite whitener and it was a great improvement. On trying it on, he noted that considering it was XL it came up a little short - you’d have thought the length would have been in proportion to the main body of the shirt. However, it is very well made, neat seams and no loose threads. He says it felt cool and comfortable next to his skin and he appreciated that little bit of stretch, thanks to the 3% Spandex. A patch breast pocket gives it a smarter vibe than would a plain summer shirt, so I think that with a smart pair of trousers this would be the perfect match. This is a good addition to this year’s summer wardrobe and at such good value, I’m tempted to buy him more in different colours.

Shirt is a little short in length
In a polyester cotton mix, this shirt is finished to a good standard, with buttons and seams sewn in neatly. However, it is more suited to a shirt that would be worn to work, or maybe a school shirt in my opinion. The colour is off white and not as bright as I would usually like to see. The collar sits well and feels strong, and the short sleeves are not too tight. The XL size came up a little small, and the shirt is quite short in length. There is a pocket on the front of the shirt. I do not think the shirt looks as good in real life as it does in the photo on the listing, and although the quality is good, it is not a shirt that my Husband would wear socially, as it does not look very flattering on. The shirt is presented well in a box with a clear lid.

A Smart, Short-Sleeve Summer Shirt for Casual or Office Wear
I’ve worn this heekpek shirt several times now, and it works well for both casual occasions and office settings with a smart-casual dress code. While it’s marketed as an Oxford, it’s actually a lighter blended fabric with a bit of stretch rather than traditional thick cotton. This makes it comfortable for all-day wear and versatile enough for both daytime and evening use. The fit is a relaxed “regular” cut that isn’t tight, and the curved hem works equally well tucked in or worn loose over chinos or jeans. I’m 6ft with a 44” chest, and the large fits perfectly, confirming that the sizing chart is accurate. The polyester-heavy blend washes well, coming out looking neat, and I haven’t found it overly warm, even in hot offices or long meetings. It also arrives in a neat box, which makes it a convenient gift. Overall, this is a practical, versatile summer shirt that balances comfort, style, and easy care. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a low-maintenance smart-casual option. For the price, this is good value shirt.

Reasonable Value for a casual shirt for work and home
I wore this Heekpek short-sleeve Oxford shirt for a day while working from home and heading out for a casual outing, using it mainly as a smart-casual option rather than formal workwear. One thing that stood out straight away was that it arrived boxed, which felt a little more premium than expected for this type of shirt. I ordered a size XXL and found the fit to be true to size. It sits comfortably across the shoulders and chest without feeling tight or restrictive, and overall it has a neat, tidy shape. The Oxford fabric is lightweight and comfortable, especially in warmer rooms. It has a slightly crisp, almost vinyl-like feel to it, which gives the shirt a smarter appearance than a basic cotton shirt, although it does show creases fairly easily. In warm conditions, the shirt feels cool and doesn’t cling to the skin, making it comfortable for all-day wear. The button-down collar holds its shape well and looks smart when worn buttoned up. It works best worn on its own rather than layered over a T-shirt, as it leans more towards a tidy, put-together look than a relaxed one. The stitching looks neat and well finished, and the buttons feel secure with no loose threads or obvious defects. Movement is good, with no pulling across the shoulders or chest when sitting or reaching. Styling-wise, it pairs well with jeans, chinos, or work trousers and looks best worn tucked in, which makes it suitable for business-casual settings as well as everyday wear. After washing, the fabric softened slightly and there was no noticeable shrinkage, although it does crease and needs ironing to look its best. Following the care instructions on the label is definitely worthwhile. The main limitation is that it’s firmly a smart-casual shirt rather than something for very formal occasions or suit wear. Overall, this is a well-made short-sleeve Oxford shirt that offers a clean, smart-casual look and reasonable value, particularly for warmer weather or relaxed work environments.

Summer work shirt
Good quality short sleeved shirt plenty smart enough to wear for work. I'm a UK size 44" chest, ordered the XL which fits fine albeit a loose fit. If you're of similar proportions and prefer a more tailored look consider a size Large. Material is thin (man made fibres), smooth to the touch and would be comfortable to wear in warmer weather. Really well finished, all the stitching is perfect and the collar has a good stiffness to it making it easier to iron. Material stretches very slightly allowing better freedom of movement; colour coordinated buttons are a nice touch. Much better overall than any budget shirts I've purchased for fractionally less, well worth the £16.99 (at time of review) cost. Happy to recommend.
