This Nermak 6 volt 6Ah LiFePO4 battery seems like a solid upgrade for my lantern. The fact that it's lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) is a big plus for longevity, with that 2000 cycle claim suggesting it'll last a good long while before needing a replacement. It's the same dimensions as the existing alkaline version that is about to die. This lithium battery's price point is in the same ball park as that non-rechargeable alkaline. Recharging this battery is pretty straightforward as it uses a cellphone charger. Overall, I feel that for anyone looking for a reliable, rechargeable battery that's built to last in their lantern, this one appears to be worth considering.

The cells charged quickly, but did not hold a charge for long, even with no load. I have it in service with a solar charger, and the battery will neither charge over 10% nor hold even that charge without a load. I should have stuck with an old-school lantern battery.

Just small enough to squeeze into my deer feeder
