Unique Design, Soft; Breathable; Claimed Non-Organic 100% Cotton; Run’s Small; Generic Presentation
What am I reviewing? I am reviewing Luvrionex’s (100%) [claimed] cotton ankle socks. How were these presented? Within an unbranded shrink-wrapped, generic like, clear plastic bag, with a press to seal top. [I appreciate the package was sealed, as I then do “not” have to question the integrity of the product from factory to me.] Transparency APP? Some clothing lines provide a QR code to scan with the “Transparency App.” There was “no” QR code here that I could scan; which could have provided additional information, including marketing information, surrounding the item, and to verify its authenticity and other product information. Are these really authentic Luvrionex socks? I have no idea. The only corroboration was the name on the UPC label, which was in microprint. Are these officially licensed socks? I don’t think that applies here. But some clothing lines are Officially Licensed merchandise, where such matters. Would the package, as is, be a good gift? Not really, it’s a shrink-wrapped plastic bag with no branding. What’s the size of the package? It’s about 9½” x 12¾” x 0.125” – which is not a typical size for socks, rather, larger; which gives me a concern that these are on the smaller side. Weight of retail package? The entire package and contents weighed in at about (80) grams, which is about (3) ounces, this gives an idea of how thick [thin] these socks really are – I estimate these fall within a lighter average weight for children’s socks. Weight of a pair of socks? About (21) grams, which is about (¾) of an ounce. Socks average (20) to (40) grams, so, these are on the lighter side, and I think best for warmer weather. What’s inside? Inside were the three (3) pairs of toddler socks of course. Fit & finish? The socks have a perfect finish. No crooked, nor unfinished seams; and with the right amount of reinforcements in the heel and toes. Heel placement was spot on. Elasticity is perfect to a little too perfect, as the cuff seemed a tad tight. Toe room also perfect. For overall sizing though, they do not have a loose relaxed fit, rather on the fit tight around the foot size, with that in mind, overall, I think these are a tad undersized, and I had ordered on an upper age range too. What’s special about this. All cotton is claimed, but that cannot be, the frill is not cotton. Accuracy of listing? The photos in the listing, I opine, do not exaggerate color. Thoughts. These are heavier than expected; and smaller, which equates into being tighter, these are not loose diabetic type socks. Care instructions? None on the package. Why I selected? I selected this in large part because of it being listed as (100%) cotton. Washability? As noted in this review, care instructions were not noted, I think them typical to wash, like colors in cold water. I handwashed in cold water and a mild detergent. Odors? None, they also wash clean. Material? The listing for the socks claims (100%) cotton. There is no reference to there being any spandex or polyester – for that frill; I prefer a higher concentration of cotton. Any certifications? I see none. What am I looking for? Several. Organic? Nothing supports this as being organic cotton. Organic certifications? I saw none. Certifications? CPSC – An importer of a “child's product,” which included apparel, which arguably this is in all respects, must certify their product meets Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) safety standards and/or CPSIA [US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008. CSPIA specifically targets children's products. CPSIA defines children's products as any product designed or intended primarily for use by children aged 12 or younger]. Missing information for compliance? Yes, the information that is or is not on the packaging. (1) The Manufacturer? No, there “is no” reference of the manufacturer; (2) Date of production? There is no reference to such; (3) Batch number? Hmm, there is “no” reference to a ”batch number;” (4) Place of origin? Yes, Made in China; (5) eMail support? No reference to any eMail address. Is there an address in the USA? No. Is there a USA telephone number? No. I will let the reader decide whether compliance was achieved surrounding CPSC requirements. Flammability standards? I see nothing that corroborates that this meets flammability requirements under 16 CFR Part 1610 (general wearing apparel). Is there anything regarding Lead & Phthalate Limits? I see nothing that suggests the materials that make-up these socks were tested to ensure they do not contain hazardous levels of lead or phthalates, especially in dyes and/or prints. Third-party testing? I see nothing that suggests these socks were tested by a CPSC-accepted laboratory, and the results documented or published for my review. Is there a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC)? To my understanding, manufacturers/importers must issue a CPC certifying compliance with all applicable safety rules, I see nothing documented or published for my review. Tracking label? I see nothing that allows me to have permanent tracking information surrounding these socks. TÜV SÜD America certification? I see “no” TÜV SÜD certification mark. What is TÜV SÜD America? It’s a trusted partner that tests children's products aimed at the US market to deliver safe and reliable products; it’s a symbol of product safety. RoHS certified? No. RoHS stands for? Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), which are European Union rules restricting the use of hazardous substances to protect the environment and public health. American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) membership? I see nothing that suggests membership. CE standard? Nothing on package that suggests compliance. What is the CE Standard? Such is a European standard, CE stands for Conformité Européenne, which is French for "European Conformity." The CE mark is a symbol of product compliance with EU regulations and ensures that products meet the necessary health, safety, and environmental standards to be legally sold within the European market ]- it has no weight in the United States. Is this perfect? No. What certification would I have liked to have seen? OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Certified. What’s that? OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification – which is one of the world's best-known labels for goods tested for harmful substances. In my opinion, goods with this certification gives me confidence the product has a high safety threshold. I did “not” see that certification here. I prefer a child’s clothes have this, to give me peace-of-mind that the dyes used in creating this shirt was evaluated by a third-party for safety. Any irritations from using? None. Comfort? Okay, no complaints and no rashes found after wearing. Stretchiness? Typical, but these are a tad tight. Shrinkage Based on my style of washing, and the poly/cotton mix, I did not see visible shrinkage. Country of origin? Made in China, noted on the package. Date of manufacture? Unknown. Date received? Summer 2025 Value? Based on the totality of the above, which included the retail price, I opine that I received good competitive value, but not exceptional value. Length of socks? Under (8”) Tube diameter? (2.5”) or so. What I did not like? The metal clips, two (2) on each pair of socks. Is this perfect? No. Why do I think that? The socks, in my opinion, are slightly undersized rather than oversized, and tight, further, at this price point, these could have been made with organic cotton and lastly there was no corroboration of any certification compliances, as noted above. I would have awarded this five (5) stars, had it. Rating? For me, based on the totality, this is an extremely weak four (4) stars, at best. If the fit and finish was not as perfect, I would have rated these three (3) stars. I hope my thoughts added a bit of information.
