My knuckles crack and bleed and what's worse - my fingers get so dry that the skin cracks on the tips of my fingers which is super painful. At first I was lathering on lotion and putting on gloves, which was great if my knuckles were the problem. But, gloves are just hot on my hands and somewhat uncomfortable. With gloves on, it is harder to open things and use my phone (and yes, I have touchscreen-friendly gloves that sort of work). Gloves are also problematic for fingertip issues because half of the lotion or ointment rubs off by the time I get my fingertip in the glove. So alas, what to do? I started this winter with taking two regular sized Band-Aids and criss-crossing them to form a plus sign and put that over the tip of my nails. I sometimes would add a third one for support across my finger. That worked but boy was it wasteful, and it left my fingers a little sticky from adhesive residue. When I saw these gel finger cots my face lit up. I had no idea that there was a product made that could be so simple, so useful, and so economical since they are reusable. With these finger cots, I simply add ointment, cream, etc. to my fingertip and then roll down the silicone sleeve onto my finger and Ta-Da! Now my finger is protected while also getting some air flow and still being bendable. My whole hand is not covered up with a glove. My hands are not hot. These finger cots are washable and they really do stretch. I thought I had overstretched one last week but it snapped back into place and is still working flawlessly. I wash these in mild soapy water and let them stand up to dry on top of a paper towel. This set comes in a pack of ten and they are adjustable, so you can cut them to size. I have small to medium sized hands and I think that these fit well on any finger without needing to be cut to size, but it's nice to have the option do to so. I admit I have not tried them on my pinky yet. Now, do these look a bit strange? Absolutely. But they work SO well. They are truly the finger healer that I will never be without again!

Finger-sized bodyguards for the chronically clumsy and literary types.
If you’re a writer, you know the struggle: you’re three chapters deep into a masterpiece when a blister decides to move in unannounced and ruin your flow. Or, worse, you have that one vengeful hangnail that looks like it’s just waiting for you to attempt a "gentle removal" so it can initiate a scene from a slasher film. Enter these gel finger cots. They are essentially tiny, nude-colored sleeping bags for your digits. I’ve tried bandaids, but those always end up falling off or getting that weird soggy edge after ten minutes. These silicone sleeves stay put, and the air holes mean my fingers don't end up looking like a shriveled prune after an hour of wear. For the hangnail situation, these are a literal lifesaver. Instead of playing "Operation" with a pair of tweezers and inevitably ending in bloodshed, I just slide one of these on. It keeps the hangnail from snagging on my clothes, my hair, or my hopes and dreams, allowing it to heal in peace while I pretend I’m a high-tech cyborg. Regarding the medium size, I was worried they might be too tight, but they are incredibly stretchy. They fit my "writer's hands" perfectly without cutting off circulation, yet they don't slide off even when I’m typing at 80 words per minute. When they eventually get a bit "lived-in," cleaning them is a breeze. You just hit them with some warm soapy water, let them air dry, and they’re back to their original squishy glory. A little dash of baby powder after washing keeps them from getting sticky, making them feel brand new every time. If you write a lot, have arthritis, or just live in constant fear of a rogue cuticle, you need these. They’re soft, they’re stretchy, and they’ve significantly reduced the amount of "tactical first aid" I have to perform in the middle of a workday.

Good fingertip protection, not waterproof
My knife skills in the kitchen are abysmal, and I frequently end up with small cuts near the tips of my fingers. An adhesive bandage provides some protection, but any bump of the finger often means the bleeding resumes. These gel finger cots help protect my fingers from opening up these little cuts again and again. They are quite stretchy and easy to put on. They come down to about the second joint on each finger, and don't impair mobility at all. They are comfortable and don't squish my finger- I forgot that it was there most of the time. The "nude" color blends in on my pasty white skin, but wouldn't exactly be subtle with a different skin tone. The air holes are nice to give some ventilation, but these cots are not waterproof because of them. I put on a bandage with the cot covering it, and the bandage became wet after a minute or so washing dishes. I had hoped these cots would make it easier to flip through pages (licking my finger for this task is a bad habit), but the cot is not sticky enough help. The product info says these could be useful for trigger finger (where the problem is the joint where the finger connects to the hand) or arthritis, but I can't imagine how they could help for those conditions. However, as a way to protect cuts, blisters, and hangnails at the tip of the fingers, these work well.

Great Quality & upgrade
The last ones I tried were hard and the ones that I have used for years. I'm so excited I was able to get these. These are a game changer definitely! They are lightweight and breathable making them so comfortable especially for long times wearing them. The price for these and the amount you get compared to others makes this defy a DEAL. THEY ARE SO VERSATILE AND can fit any size finger from my daughters small size to my husbands large fingers. Once on they don't move, staying place not having to constantly reposition it. They are very soft, durable and well made. I found my upgraded ones in these. I love the breathable holes on each side so my fingers no longer sweat with these on

Great for protecting injured fingers
I ordered these gel finger cots to protect an injured thumbnail that just wouldn’t heal because I kept bumping it. Band-aids alone weren’t helping it since they’d get wet every time I washed my hands. These were exactly what I needed. I wrapped my thumb with a bandage first then slid one of these over it. It stayed in place, kept everything dry, and protected my nail while it recovered. They’re soft, stretchy, and surprisingly durable. I’ve reused the same one for several days at a time—just rinsed it under warm water and let it dry—and it hasn’t torn or worn out. They have enough grip to stay put without feeling tight or uncomfortable. I’ve also used them for dry, cracked winter splits on my thumbs. I’ll add a little lotion or ointment underneath and wear one overnight or during the day. They really help protect the skin so it can heal, especially if you’re constantly washing your hands or working outside in cold weather. Only downside: you can’t use a touchscreen with them on. Small trade-off compared to dealing with painful cracks or a stubborn nail injury. There are plenty in the pack, they’re comfortable, reusable, and they actually do what they’re supposed to. For me, they’ve been a simple but really helpful fix. If you’re dealing with cracked thumbs or trying to keep a bandage dry, these are absolutely worth having on hand.

Handy little protectors, great for delicate woodworking tasks too!
These gel finger cots don't have to only be used to protect an injured fingertip! I am using the ones that I ordered to protect my index and middle fingertips from fine slivers that I tend to get when pushing small strips of wood across my router table. These finger cots are not "tacky", and they have a little bit of slipperiness to them, so they work great for the pushing tasks that I am using them for. I received a ten pack of finger cots, which came in a sturdy, recloseable box. These gel finger cots are not necessarily a one-time use item, though they are priced low enough to be used that way when protecting a cut or scabbed fingertip. They would also be helpful if used to protect a nasty hangnail. I have been reusing the first pair of finger cots, and so far, after five hour-long sessions of use, they are still holding up well and have not torn through yet. I plan to also use a couple more of these fionger cots soon, when I have to handle a lot of accounting paperwork, just to protect my two busiest fingers from papercuts. For less than one dollar per protected fingertip, these are a fair value, and they do a good job of keeping wood slivers outside of my fingers!

Almost better than bandiad
I used these while healing a torn nail and a paper cut, so I needed something protective but not overly bulky. They’re easy to put on and remove, and I liked that they could be washed and reused without any issues. One thing to note is to follow the directions and not overstretch them if you do, they can tear more easily than expected. What really stood out is that they allow some airflow, which helped the area heal better compared to the solid silicone versions I’ve used before. They’re also thinner and less awkward, making them more comfortable for daily use. Compared to thicker, fully sealed options, these feel more practical and breathable, though they did darken a bit with use. Overall, these are a good option if you want something lighter and more comfortable for healing, as long as you handle them carefully.
