Price is fine for low use
Listen, for ten bucks and to wear for a trip up north, these did the trick.I read a lot of reviews that had me confused about what to buy. I think people are buying ten dollarish shoes and expecting them to last like thirty or forty dollar shoes. It's not going to happen. So this review is for the average person wearing them for a trip, maybe to do a little weekend water fun. They were really comfortable, wide enough but not too wide as to feel like they would slip off. The bottom is a very flexible black rubber that definitely won't last lots of trekking around but isn't bad for some time to time wading or playing in the water with an inner tube. The shoes are easy to slip your foot into, just a soft fabric covered elastic band around the ankle. There was plenty of room in the toe area to wiggle your toes. When wet, they did get a little bit heavy, but not too bad. They were a bit harder to remove when wet, which is probably what you want when you're inner tubing or wading in the water. All in all, for the price of around ten bucks, not bad. If you want something to last a while or to actually walk around in, this isn't it. This isn't an around town shoe, this is a directly for what it's used for, pool, lake, river.

Love these shoes! Great customer service
This is my second pair from the same distributor. Well, technically my third. Here's what happened. After a year of using my first pair every single day for at least an hour of water workouts, sometimes 2 hrs. They were fine. The insert sole comes off after a while, which is to be expected with chlorinated water.I ordered my second pair after the first one started to deteriorate.Unfortunately, one shoe started to rip at the toe area almost immediately, and was unwearable after just 2 -3 uses.I contacted Gear One, and they sent me a replacement pair right away. So, my third pair fits great, looks good, and is holding up very well.Great customer service as well. I will definitely be purchasing from Gear One again, as I believe there must have been a fluke in production. It happens. As for size. Mine fit like a glove. That's important to me, since I do a lot of running an treating in the water, and I can't afford to slip around in my shoes.Purchase your shoe size. If you're in between sizes, order the smaller one, you can then take the insole out.I hope this is helpful info.

Good for swimming in rocky places, great price
Giving 5 stars for the very low price and fast delivery. I bought these shoes for swimming at rocky beaches and rivers. They protect my feet well enough in those situations, and are definitely worth the ~$10.00 I paid for them. The mesh uppers allow water to drain easily, and are great for swimming. I usually wear size 7.5, but these shoes come only in whole sizes so I ordered size 8, which is just slightly too long. The adjustable heel strap allows a snug fit, and they sit high on the foot, so they won't slide off. For ~$10.00, I didn't expect any support or cushioning, and, as expected, the soles are relatively thin and are not made for walking any distance. These shoes are NOT comparable to more expensive "amphibian shoes," e.g. from Keen, Tiva, etc, but they are useful for swimming in rocky places. The only possible downside: they emit noxious-smelling chemical fumes, which is common with this type of foam rubber products. Based on my experience with this material, I expect the "out-gassing" will subside within a couple of months - meanwhile, I'll keep them outside on the porch because I really don't enjoy the smell in the house.

Great shoe, great price!
I'm really baffled by all the bad reviews here. I purchased these almost a year ago (June 9, 2017) for myself and my eldest daughter, originally for use at our local quarry - lots of slippery/slimy rocks - and we both ended up wearing them the entire summer, both in and out of the water; at the quarry, walking to and from, as well as in, the local public pool, and walking around at our marina, plus being in the lake. We never had a problem with them so I'll definitely be ordering more this year for my younger girls! I got them some cheaper ones at a local store and those fell apart much too quickly. Be sure you get the correct size and you shouldn't have a problem. The reason I marked the size "somewhat large" in the review is just that...*somewhat* large. I'm a size 6 so, of course, I got a size 6. I don't know exact measurements when it comes to shoes and one's foot, but with the size 6 on my feet, there was maybe 1/4 inch of space between my big toe and the "front" of the shoe so..."somewhat" large, though it's not really that big of a deal. They're very comfortable for day to day use, though I do think the padding could be a tad bit thicker. I could feel larger rocks and sticks while walking, but they're swim shoes so they're not really meant for hiking or general use anyway. They've held up extremely well and ,my eldest and I will be using them again this summer, too. My biggest issue will be picking which ones to get for the rest of my daughters since they offer so many different colors and styles.

Save your money. Don’t buy these!
I’ve owned these water shoes for years, but have probably only worn them a dozen times. The insoles are extremely thin so you can really feel everything underfoot. This actually doesn’t bother me. What does bother me is that the insoles tend to wrinkle up and shift around, making putting on and removing the shoes a pain. The minimal tread on the soles wears down quickly so don’t plan on going hiking or walking on slippery rocks with them. The quality of the upper matches the rest of the shoe. My big toenail on my right foot started ripping through the mesh upper (as you can see in the photo). It was at this point that I realized that the curved black fabric strips sewn to the mesh were probably supposed to help reinforce the mesh and prevent these type of things from happening. However, in my case, these reinforcement strips didn’t work as intended because they were sewn in the wrong position on the right shoe…you can clearly see in the photo that the black strips on the shoes do not look symmetrical.
