What's the difference between a slow masticator vs. a juice extractor?

Slow masticator - less mess, slightly better yield (especially on leafy greens), more expensive, 1-2 more days of juice shelf life (less oxidation).  Juice extractor - cheaper and significantly faster extraction.  Considering that many people give up juicing after the first weeks or month, faster extraction should be a consideration.

Question 2

Does it have any plastic parts in the areas where fruit / veg can come in contact with? Or are these parts all metal? Thnks in Adv.

All of the internal pieces that do the work are metal (with some metal-based mesh). The only plastic piece is "smoothie" attachment, which I've, honestly, never used - as I'm a much bigger fan of just plain and simple fresh-pressed juice. But I love this machine. It's durable. Clean up is quick and easy. And the juice that gets extracted is so tasty! I highly recommend this product.

In some online stores (e.g. Bed Bath & Beyond/BBB) this product is advertised as the "Breville® Ikon Multi-Speed Juice Fountain" while on Amazon it's listed as the "Breville BJE510XL Juice Fountain Multi-Speed 900-Watt Juicer". Question 4

Do you have to switch blades from a hard to soft fruit/ veggie if the recipe calls for both types? I would think it would be a hassle if you have to.

No, I don't change the blade. I've found that the machine is so efficient that I can juice an orange with harder veggies and the juice is terrific! The pulp shows how well it's working.
